South Central Yearly Meeting opened in 1961 as a member of Friends General Conference, growing out of the Southwest Conference that began meeting in 1957. Most of its early monthly meetings were originally recognized as such by FWCC. Today South Central includes unprogrammed Quakers meeting in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Philadelphia Orchestra Association records, 1900-2023 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Philadelphia Orchestra was founded in 1900, and has developed and maintained its status as a prominent symphonic ensemble throughout its existence. Its history informs and intersects with the broader history of music in the twentieth century, as well as numerous historical movements, events and developments on a regional, national and global scale. The records of The Philadelphia Orchestra Association document its activities from 1900 to 2023 through administrative records, concert programs, photographs, scrapbooks and audio and visual recordings. This collection is not fully processed. While materials listed here have been processed and are available for research, a significant portion of the collection, labeled "unavailable," remains in process and cannot be consulted at this time. As soon as additional portions of the collection are completed they will be made available via additions to this finding aid. The last addition of completed materials occurred on October 26, 2023.

Abstract:
Emmanuel Roblès (1914-1995) was a French-Algerian author and playwright. James A. Kilker (1925-2012) was an American professor of French Studies and French translator, notably of Emmanuel Roblès' works. The James and Marie Kilker collection of Emmanuel Roblès material dates from 1941 to 2023, spans five linear feet, and primarily consists of material relating to Roblès' work and career, correspondence between the Kilkers and Roblès, and published material by Roblès. There is also material relating to other Algerian-born European authors and playwrights.

Abstract:
For more than a century the Penn Libraries have been purchasing books and manuscripts at public auction in the United States and abroad. This finding aid serves as a guide to more than 1,600 book and manuscript dealer catalogs from 112 different firms. The collection includes substantial runs of catalogs from dealers of importance in the history of the book trade who are no longer in operation, such the Rosenbach Company, H.P. Kraus, and E.P. Goldschmidt. In addition, it contains catalogs from dozens of other book dealers around the world who are still currently active.
