This is a finding aid. It is a description of archival material held at the Quaker Meeting Records at Haverford College Quaker & Special Collections and Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Overview and metadata sections

Western Quarterly Meeting was established in 1758 by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting out of a division of Chester Quarterly Meeting. Many of the monthly meetings in this quarter were transferred to Baltimore Yearly Meeting.

In 1955, Western Quarterly Meeting (Orthodox) merged with Western Quarterly Meeting (Hicksite).

Records of Western Quarterly Meeting, 1758-2019, include: minutes, 1758-2019; pre-Separation and Hicksite women's minutes, 1758-1900; Ministers and Elders' minutes, 1763-1985; financial records; and miscellaneous papers; Orthodox records of the William Jackson bequest for the education of children of West Grove Preparative and Western Quarterly Meetings, 1835-1929 (including minutes of the Trustees, 1836-1900, accounts, 1849-71, 1871-94, & 1894-1928, and other bills, receipts, and miscellaneous correspondence).
