Abstract:
The Olivia Stokes Hatch papers reveal the relief work of women during the early 20th century, as well as family relationships, largely illustrated through extensive family correspondence. Olivia Stokes Hatch (1908-1983) was born in New Haven, CT and attended Bryn Mawr College from 1925 to 1930. Prior to her marriage she was very active with the American Red Cross and American Conferences of Social Work. In 1939, Olivia Phelps Stokes married John Davis Hatch, Jr. an art collector, consultant, and museum director. They had four children: John Davis Hatch III, Daniel Lindley Hatch, James Stokes Hatch, and Sarah Stokes Hatch. Anna V.S. Mitchell, the sister of Caroline Mitchell Phelps Stokes, and the aunt of Olivia Stokes Hatch, spent most of her life engaged in relief work. Her career began in 1915 in Serbia and ended in 1936 in Constantinople. Abstract:
Machteld Johanna Mellink, celebrated archaeologist and professor of archaeology at Bryn Mawr College from 1949 to 1988, was born in Amsterdam, Holland in 1917. She received her BA in 1938 and MA in 1941 from the University of Amsterdam, and her PhD from the University of Utrecht in 1943. The Machteld Mellink papers cover Professor Mellink's academic and archaeological career from the late 1950s to the early 2000s. Included in the collection are her writings and notes, photographs, publications, and a few excavation tools. Researchers interested in her academic career, as well as her work related to excavation sites such as Kızılbel, Tarsus, and Sardis, will find valuable information in this collection. However, this collection does not provide particularly strong insight into archaeological history, nor Professor Mellink's thought process when approaching archaeological issues. Abstract:
Henry Neville Sanders (1869-1943) studied at Edinburgh University, Gottingen, and the University of Toronto prior to joining joined the faculty of Bryn Mawr College in 1902. Sanders remained at Bryn Mawr until his retirement in 1935. Angela Darkow (AB – 1911; MA – 1912; PhD – 1919) studied Greek and Latin at Bryn Mawr College. Aditionally, her sister, Marguerite, received her AB from Bryn Mawr in 1915. The collection consists of correspondence and diaries of Henry Neville Sanders (1869-1943) and Angela Darkow documenting their lives at Bryn Mawr, careers and relationships. A small part of the collection pertains to Marguerite, the Ferris Family, and M. Carey Thomas, president of Bryn Mawr.

Dorothy Burr Thompson (1900 – 2001) was a prominent archaeologist who graduated from Bryn Mawr in 1923. She specialized in Greek terracotta. Burr Thompson and her husband, Homer A. Thompson, were both heavily involved with the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. The collection includes her diaries, personal correspondence, and professional papers. It also includes contains both personal and research related photographs and postcards.

Andrew H. Woods papers, 1885-1956 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Andrew H. Woods (1872 – 1956) became vice president of Canton College in Guangzhou, China in 1899. He maintained his association with Canton Christian College throughout the Boxer Rebellion, or Yihetuan Movement, and the end of the Qing dynasty. Woods moved back and forth between China and the United States with his wife, Fanny Sinclair, who graduated from Bryn Mawr in 1901. In 1929, the couple and their children settled in Iowa. In Iowa, Woods worked as a professor and practitioner of neurology and psychology. Andrew H. Woods' papers include diaries which describe his personal life and professional life in China and in the United States, photographs and postcards, much of Agnes Sinclair's personal correspondence, his articles, and various papers.

As a former United States Senator from Pennsylvania, chair of America's Promise, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service, and Special Assistant to President John F. Kennedy, Harris Wofford dedicated much of his career and personal life to advocating for public service. The Harris Wofford papers contain over 400 linear feet of extensive notes, research files, writings, correspondence, political papers and audio/visual recordings documenting an impressive career of a citizen passionate about activism. While not entirely complete in its scope of Wofford's life due to many key records from the 1960s being lost in a fire early in his career, the collection nonetheless provides an invaluable resource for those interested in politics, human rights, public service, education, and law. Bryn Mawr College photo archives inventory, 1885-2000s

Abstract:
The Photo Archives comprises photographs, slides, transparencies, and negatives depicting the history of Bryn Mawr College from 1885 to the early 2000s. The majority of prints are in black-and-white, though there are a few in color from the late 1960s through the 1980s. Older prints range from carte-de-visite, cabinet cards, cyanotypes and some other early photomechanical processes. Photos are organized in three sub-collections: People; Buildings and Campus; and Events and Groups. The sub-collection People contains photos of notable and miscellaneous persons from the College. The Buildings group includes images of past and current campus buildings, including exterior and interior views. The Events and Groups sub-collection comprises events, campus happenings, and student life. There are also portraits of early alumnae, yearbook photographs, Bi-Co news photographs, and images from the Summer School of Women Workers in Industry (SSWWI). Gertrude C. K. Leighton papers, 1930-1982 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Gertrude Leighton was born in Belfast, Ireland. Leighton first came to Bryn Mawr College as a member of the class of 1938 and majored in classical archaeology. In 1940, she was hired by Barnard College as a lecturer in the English Department. She entered law school at Yale in 1942, graduated in 1945. Leighton returned to Bryn Mawr in 1950 as Assistant Professor of Political Science. Later promotions made her full professor and department chairman. The collection consists mainly of office materials. There are syllabi and reading lists for BMC political science courses taught. There are miscellaneous materials from senior conferences, the journal club, and special conferences. Boxes 2, 3, and 4 contain typed drafts for an unpublished fifteen-chapter book Leighton was writing in collaboration with Richard G. Lonsdorf.

Laura Knipe collection of cartoons, 1949-1953 (inclusive)

Laura Elizabeth Knipe (1932-2010) was a graduate of Bryn Mawr College (Class of 1953). Throughout her time as an undergraduate she produced numerous cartoon drawings based on her and her friends' experiences as Bryn Mawr students. Many of her witty cartoons good naturedly mock their own study habits, life in the Rockefeller Dorm, academics, particularly the Anthropology and Geology departments, and their social antics and misadventures. This collection, donated to Bryn Mawr College by one of Knipe's closest Bryn Mawr friends, Eula Wulfjen Harmon Hoff (Class of 1952), is comprised of over 100 of Knipe's drawings, including drafts and copies. Hoff has also provided commentary on the categorically organized drawings.

Martha Johnson and Doris Thompson owned and operated the Francis Scott Key Bookshop and Johnson & Thompson Literary Agency in Georgetown. During Johnson's many years as a bookseller and literary agent, she met and corresponded with a large number of authors, public officials, editors, and publishers. Additionally, Johnson opened operated a literacy agency along with her friend Doris Thompson. Together they represented many authors including Anne Malcolmson, Elizabeth Kirtland, John Patterson, etc. The collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts, other papers, and photographs related to Johnson's and Thompson's businesses as well as Johnson's personal life.

Japanese Women in Politics after World War II collection, 1945-1951 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Mary Ritter Beard (1876-1958) was an historian and a campaigner for women's suffrage and Ethel B. Weed was a lieutenant in the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces Civil Information and Education Office in Japan. Beard and Weed corresponded, with Weed providing research assistance to Beard for a proposed book on Japanese women's history and Beard providing advice to Weed regarding her activties with the Civil Information and Education Office. The collection consists of documentation regarding the activities of women in politics in Japan after World War II including reports from the General Headquarters of the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, election results, documentaion of activities of politicians in the form of reports and newspaper articles, and statements and interviews from Japanese women on the subject of women's involvement in politics.

Tarsus Collection, 1934 – 1963 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Tarsus Archaeological Collection contains documents from an excavation sponsored by Bryn Mawr College and directed by Hetty Goldman, a pioneering archaeologist. The Tarsus excavation began in 1934 and continued until early 1939, when World War II interrupted it; it resumed after the war in 1947 and 1948. The results of the excavation were published in yearly articles and in three volumes of text and plates on the major periods found in the excavation: the Hellenistic and Roman periods, the Iron Age, and the Neolithic through Bronze Age. The particular strength of the collection is the series of handwritten excavation notebooks, photographic negatives, and other documents from the excavation. There are also glass lantern slides that were used for teaching and public talks.

Abstract:
Helen Griffith was a member of Bryn Mawr's class of 1905. After graduation, she taught English at Mount Holyoke, Bennett, and Tougaloo Colleges. In 1966, she published a biography of Sarah Dickey titled "Dauntless in Mississippi: The Life of Sarah A. Dickey." Griffith died in 1976. The Helen Griffith papers houses Griffith's college diary and scrapbook. The diary spans 1903-1910, but the bulk of the entries describe either her junior and senior years at Bryn Mawr (1903-1905) or her first year at Columbia University (1909). The diary offers a near-daily record of Bryn Mawr student life during the early twentieth century. The scrapbook depicts a broad overview of life on campus in the early twentieth century. Griffith collects a range of materials relating to administration, academics, and extracurricular activities. The scrapbook focuses on Griffith's college years (1901-1905) but also includes material through 1956, mostly documenting alumnae engagement and reunion events.

Ralph Hodgson and Aurelia Bolliger Hodgson papers, 1896-1984 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Very little is known about the early life of Ralph Hodgson (1871-1962), a British poet. In the 1890s, he worked as a newspaper and magazine illustrator, signing some of his works 'Yorick', and, in 1913, founded "The Sign of the Flying Fame" publishers along with Claud Lovat Fraser and Holbrook Jackson. Hodgson published a variety of poetry volumes prior to joining that army at the beginning of World War I. In 1923, he accepted a position as a lecturer in English at Sendai University in Japan. It was here that he met his third wife, Aurelia Bolliger (1898-1984), an American born teacher at the Women's College of Sendai. The couple faced a variety of difficulties during the early years of their marriage, including Aurelia's young age, loss of job because of her relationship with Ralph, and her family's struggle to accept their marriage. Albert Winslow Barker served as the Director of Art Education in the Public School District of Wilmington, Delaware, between 1921 and 1929. 1927, at age 53, he apprenticed himself to one of the masters of American lithography, Bolton Brown. Barker spent the rest of his life in the practice of lithography, furthering the development of that art.

Henry Joel Cadbury papers, 1965-1971 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Henry Joel Cadbury graduated from Haverford College (A.B. 1903) and Harvard University (M.A. 1904 and Ph.D. 1914). Cadbury served as a trustee and director of Bryn Mawr College for many years and was Chairman for the Board of Directors from 1956 to 1969. He was one of the foudners of the American Friends Service Committee in 1917 and Chairman of that organization 1928-34, 1944-60. AFSC won the Nobel Peace Prize along with Britain's Service Council in 1947. The Henry Joel Cadbury papers holds the papers of the AFSC Family Planning and Population Education Committee relating to a special report being prepared for publication on the subject of abortion. The collection, which is from around 1965-1971, sheds light on the Quaker opinion on abortion, contraceptives, and sex education during the late 1960s-early 1970s.

Jean Scobie Davis, a 1914 graduate of Bryn Mawr College, taught economics and sociology at Agnes Scott College, Vassar College, Pierce College, Wells College and the American Women's College in Beirut. A lifetime interest in prison reform resulted in her work at the New York State Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, New York. The Jean Scobie Davis papers is a collection consisting largely of Jean Scobie Davis' diaries and correspondence covering nearly all stages of her life. The collection, which dates from 1892 to 1985, is divided into seven subseries: "Autobiographical Material;" "Correspondence;" "Diaries;" "Family History;" "Photographs;" "Prison Reform;" and "Scrapbooks and Guestbook." Material found in the collection is diverse, and consists of letters, reports, bound diaries as well as loose diary pages, photographs, scrapbooks, and handwritten notes.

The Philadelphia Club of Advertising Women (PCAW) was founded in 1916 by sixteen women advertising executives. The Club participated in charitable efforts, offered advertising courses, published a newsletter (Ad-Land News), and hosted social events throughout its history. These efforts garnered national recognition for PCAW as a leading advertising organization. It also won them recognition locally as an organization committed to helping the community through scholarships and charitable giving. This collection contains the records produced by PCAW from 1916 to 1984, including material related to their advertising courses, events, history, charity involvement, and meetings. The collection has several strengths, the most notable of which is its comprehensive coverage of organizational activities from 1930 to 1977. Lucy T. Shoe Meritt (1906- 2003) was an acclaimed archaeologist, scholar, teacher and editor who received her B.A, M.A, and Ph.D degrees from Bryn Mawr. During her life time, Shoe Meritt taught at Mount Holyoke College and the University of Texas at Austin, was a fellow at the American Academy of Rome, and served as the Editor of Publications for the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. Additionally, she was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study and the American Institute of Archaeology. She received the Gold Medal of the Archaeological Institute of America for Distinguished Archaeological Achievement in 1976. The collection is largely comprised of Shoe Meritt's correspondence with her family and notable scholars who were her contemporaries. Mary Katharine Woodworth (1900 – 1988) graduated from Bryn Mawr in 1924 with a Greek and English major and a minor in archaeology. She received her Ph. D in English from Bryn Mawr in 1933. After her book on British poet and genealogist Samuel Egerton Brydges was published in 1935, she began teaching in the English department at Bryn Mawr, and introduced the college's first course on 20th-century writers. She received a Distinguished Teaching Award from Bryn Mawr in 1968 upon her retirement. Her bequest of her entire estate to Bryn Mawr in 1988, which included Chagall's The Violinist, made her the 4th largest contributor to the college at the time. Phyllis Dubsky Feldkamp attended Bryn Mawr College as part of the class of 1937, and was a journalist living in France in the 1950s and 1960s where she began writing about fashion. She served as the Fashion and Style Editor for the Philadelphia Bulletin from 1968 to 1982, and also did much free-lance writing. The collection includes interviews and correspondence with figures in the fashion industry, and copies of nearly all of her writings. The Speer Family papers represent four generations of that family, with the bulk of material attributed to the last two generations, especially Robert Elliott Speer and his wife and three of his five children: Emma Bailey, Elliott, Margaret Bailey, and William Speer. The family was active in the Presbyterian Church, serving that institution in a variety of different capacities. The children, in addition to their religious roles, held prominent positions in academic administration. The family's papers primarily consist of the personal papers of the family, although they also contain the professional correspondence of Emma Bailey and Margaret Bailey Speer, both Bryn Mawr College alumnae. Henrietta Cozens (fl. 1900-1930s) was a horticulturalist and a friend of the artists Elizabeth Shippen Green Elliott (1872-1954), Violet Oakley (1874-1961), and Jessie Willcox Smith (1863-1935). In 1902, the three artists held their first group exhibition at the Plastic Club, a professional organization for women artists on Camac Street in Philadelphia. After their experience renting studio space at Bryn Mawr College to escape the summer heat of the city, they decided in 1902 to lease the Red Rose Inn in Villanova, where they lived and worked until 1906. Jeannette Ridlon Piccard, BMC class of 1918, was the first woman licensed to pilot a balloon in the United States, and the first woman to enter the stratosphere (with a flight that reached 57, 559 feet). She served as a consultant and lecturer for NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center from 1964-1970. At the age of 79 Piccard was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Church, one of the "Philadelphia Eleven"- the first ordained female priests. Anne Dean Truitt (1921-2004,) BMC 1943, was an artist and writer. Truitt's formal training as an artist began in 1948 when she studied sculpture at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Washington D. C. In the early 1960s Truitt began to develop what would become her signature style, applying layer upon layer of paint to hollow wooden structures. In the aftermath of two retrospective shows in the mid-1970s, Truitt began keeping detailed journals documenting the details of her life, her creative processes, her working methods, and her personal development. She converted the writing from one year into a book, Daybook, published in 1982. In 1986 more of her journal-writing was published as the book Turn. The 1991 retrospective led to her third book, Prospect, in 1996. The papers consist of manuscripts and drafts of Truitt's books and other writing, exhibition catalogs, correspondence, and records of travel.

Mrs. Gordan's extensive scholarly papers reflect her many years of careful study of Italian humanism. Bryn Mawr alumna Theresa Helburn (B.A. 1908) had a long and distinguished career behind the scenes on Broadway, and made important contributions to the professions of film and television from the 1930s to the 1950s. As a producer with New York's Theatre Guild from 1919, Helburn served as a literary manager and casting director, before becoming a co-producer, with Lawrence Langner. The Theatre Guild specialized in bringing the highest-quality drama of Europe and America to Broadway stages. Helburn's responsibilities were wide-ranging, including everything from vetting scripts, to casting plays, to fund-raising, to leading advertising and marketing campaigns. The collection includes correspondence between Updegraff and her sisters, children, and sister-in-law, among other family members, photographs of the Atherton and Updegraff families, an autograph collection, and brochures, pamphlets, and official documentation pertaining to Updegraff's missionary work. The Chinese Scholarship Committee was established by Professor Lucy Martin Donnelly in 1916, to provide Chinese women an education who could not otherwise obtain one in China. It was also intended to "deepen the understanding between China and the United States by bringing to this country the type of students who would represent the highest Chinese traditions, and who would in turn interpret to China our western civilization" ("Bryn Mawr Chinese Scholarship Committee," pamphlet). Theodore de Laguna (1876-1930) was a professor of philosophy at Bryn Mawr College for 23 years and an author. The Theodore de Laguna collection, dating from 1896 to 1989, contains diverse writings and annotated books by de Laguna. This collection focuses mainly on de Laguna's manuscripts, off prints, and poetry, but also contains original musical arrangements, annotated works by others, and correspondence regarding de Laguna's death in 1930.

Abstract:
Constance Grenelle Wilcox, Bryn Mawr Class of 1917, was a successful playwright and novelist. Some of Wilcox's written works include: Pan Pipes (1919), The Princess in the Fairy Tale (1919) and Told in a Chinese Garden (1932). The Constance Grenelle Wilcox papers include her unpublished manuscript, The Unsophisticate. The papers also include a series of other unpublished plays and children's stories. There is also correspondence in the collection.

Fritz and Karoline Solmitz papers, 1929-2006 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Fritz Solmitz (1893-1933) was an early and outspoken leader in the opposition to Nazism, an editor of a Social Democratic newspaper in Lübeck and a member of the City council. Because of his active opposition to the Nazis, and probably because he was a Jew, he died of mistreatment in a German prison shortly after Hitler came to power. Karoline Somitz (1893-1966) was, like her husband, active in civic affairs. Much of the collection contains letters and photographs, some translated from German.

H.D. and Bryher papers, 1916-1972 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The poet and philhellenist H.D. (Hilda Doolittle) was born in 1886 in Bethlehem, PA. Around 1895, the Doolittle family moved from the Moravian community in Bethlehem to Upper Darby. While living in Pennsylvania, H.D. met fellow poets Ezra Pound, to whom she was briefly engaged, and William Carlos Williams. Both of the young men were students at the University of Pennyslvania, where Hilda's father was a professor of astronomy. She began attending Bryn Mawr College in 1905 as a day student and made the acquaintance of fellow students Marianne Moore and Mary Herr. After three semesters, H.D. withdrew from college. Her motives for leaving are not clear, although the catalyst may have been illness, poor grades, or her relationship with Ezra Pound. Years later she would write to Mary Herr (1959 July 19) that she was "practically invisible" at the college. The collection consists of one box of material, divided into two categories: Correspondence and Miscellaneous Materials.

The records date from 1970 to 2007 and include newspaper clippings, articles, meeting notes, office files, activism realia, and lobbying records, among other things.

Judith Kate Haywood (later Jacoby) (1934-1997) graduated cum laude from Bryn Mawr College in 1955 with an AB in economics. Judith was chairwoman of the college's Chapel Committee (1953-1954) and president of the Bryn Mawr League (1954-1955). Just before Judith entered college, she toured Europe. During her college years and after, she continued to pursue her passion for travel by taking trips to Mexico, Alaska, and other parts of North and South America. After graduating from Bryn Mawr, Judith worked for a short time at AT&T as a financial analyst and at Rosemary Hall as a teacher of mathematics. Judith made significant contributions to Bryn Mawr College as an alumna. She played many major roles in the Bryn Mawr College Book Sale in Cambridge, which raised over a million dollars in scholarship funds. Maurine Boie La Barre received her B.S. from the University of Minnesota in 1927, did graduate work in English there 1927-1928, and received her M.A. in Sociology there in 1932. She received her M.S.W. from Bryn Mawr in 1937 and did further work at the Pennsylvania School of Social Work. During the late 1930s and early 1940s, she was editor-inchief of The Family, journal of the Family Welfare Association of America in New York City, and in 1943 she wrote the New York Baby Book which was given to every new mother in the city. The Maurine Boie La Barre papers consists of professional publications, personal and academic papers.

Abstract:
Marianne Craig Moore (1887-1972) was an award-winning modernist poet. She graduated from Bryn Mawr in 1909 with a B.A. in history, economics, and politics. The poet was published for the first time in 1915, and by 1920, her poetry was frequently featured in The Dial, a magazine that served as an outlet for modernist thought and art. From 1925-1929, Moore was editor of The Dial. During the 1930s and 1940s, she published her poetry in books and did freelance writing. The 1950s and 1960s brought Moore fame and recognition: her Collected Poems, published in 1951, won her the Bollingen Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, and the National Book Award. She was also the recipient of The National Medal for Literature, France's Croix de Chevalier, and sixteen honorary degrees. Margaret Rumsey Hall Whitfield (bornJune 23, 1933) was a 1955 graduate of Bryn Mawr College, did graduate work at Radcliffe and Harvard in Education in the late 1950s, and spent much of her life in either Concord or Great Barrington, Massachusetts, where she raised a family, raised and rode horses, managed businesses and property, and wrote. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Blodgett Hall, founder of Simon's Rock College, and Livingston Hall, who taught law at Harvard. The papers consist of her extensive notebooks of journal entries, correspondence, photographs, and writings documenting her life from high school at the Cambridge School in Weston, MA in 1947 to her move to California in the 2000s. Anne Poage Funkhouser, BMC Class of 1933, MA 1936 (in German), traveled extensively throughout her life. In her later years she published the two books which are represented here in draft: Voyage of Re-Discovery (1979) and Hieronimus Bosch (1980). Materials include Funkhouser's personal observations, citations of other published works in the field, photographs, and letters. The correspondence is principally concerned with matters regarding Funkhouser's published works. Some of the photographs are Funkhouser's original work, others are from other works and publications.

Margaret Trumbull Corwin (1889-1983) received an A.B. degree from Bryn Mawr College in 1912 with a major in French and a minor in German. After graduation she worked at Yale University Press until 1919. In 1916 she took a leave of absence to work as executive secretary to the Connecticut Women's Committee of the Council of National Defense in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1919 Corwin went to France with the YMCA and was stationed in Beaune at the American Expeditionary Forces University. Upon her return, Corwin served as executive secretary of the Yale University Graduate School from 1919 until 1934. In 1934 she was appointed dean of New Jersey College for Women (part of Rutgers University), now Douglass College. She held this position for twenty-one years, until her retirement in 1955. The material in this collection consists mostly of copies of letters home, photographs, various notes, and printed material. It is an odds-and-ends collection. Richmond Lattimore (1906-1984) taught Greek at Bryn Mawr College from 1935-1971. While at Bryn Mawr, Lattimore frequently celebrated the college in verse, whether at faculty dinners, inaugurations, convocations, or in his personal poems. He published several volumes of original and translated poetry, critical works,translations, essays and collaborated with other scholars on works such as the "Hanover Poems" and "The Complete Greek Tragedies." The collection is divided into the following five sections: (1) Poetry; (2) Biblical and Classical Translations; (3) Articles, Essays, Lectures, and Reviews; (4) Correspondence and Works of Others; and (5) Miscellaneous Personal and Bryn Mawr Materials. They date from 1924-1984 but the bulk of materials are from 1950-1980.

Barbara Lane correspondence with German architects (1955-1982), 1955-1982 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Barbara Miller Lane is a former Professor at Bryn Mawr College who came in 1962 to teach history and later helped to develop the college's Growth and Structure of Cities Program in 1971. Lane is known for her research in 20th century German Architecture and Urban Planning. Her most notable published work is "Architecture and Politics in Germany, 1918-1945," (first published in 1968) which is considered the classic work on German architecture and planning in the early twentieth century. She was also a member of the "City Forum", an advisory group on planning Berlin after German unification. This collection includes of letters between Barbara Lane and various German architects written while she was researching her study on politics and architecture in Germany between the World Wars, and contains correspondence with notable German Architects such as Fritz Breuhaus de Groot, Albert Speer, and Walter Gropius.
