Abstract:
George Treister (b. 1923) was a founding partner of Stutman, Treister, and Glatt. A graduate of Yale University Law School in 1949, Treister was a member of the Judicial Conference's Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules and the National Bankruptcy Conference, where he served as Vice Chairman from 1971 to 1984. He is the author of a number of bankruptcy volumes, including "Recent Bankruptcy Decisions," a compendium of judicial decisions regarding bankruptcy legislation, used as educational material by nearly all major bankruptcy seminars. The collection comprises volumes of George Treister's "Recent Bankruptcy Decisions" from 1981 to 1990 and from 1992 to 1998.

Abstract:
In March 1925, the American Law Institute (ALI) started the Code of Criminal Procedure project. The resulting volume attempted to provide a framework for effective administration of criminal law while maintaining protection for the rights of the accused. The collection, circa 1925-1959, includes drafts, correspondence, minutes, and other materials related to the drafting of the code, which outlined procedures for carrying out criminal law and defined the rights of the accused in areas such as arrest, bail, and execution.

David L. Bazelon Papers, 1941-1993 and undated (inclusive)

Abstract:
David Lionel Bazelon (1909-1993) graduated from Northwestern University Law School in 1932. In 1936, Bazelon joined the United States Attorney's Office in Chicago, where he specialized in tax cases. In 1949, President Harry S. Truman appointed Bazelon to the newly-created United States Court of Appeals for the District Columbia, making Bazelon, at forty years old, one of the youngest people ever appointed to a federal judgeship. He served on the court from 1949 to 1984, acting as Chief Judge from 1962 to 1978. During this time the Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia was often considered the nation's second highest court. In his years on the court Bazelon was involved in decisions on matters ranging from the use of DDT to the definition of insanity. In the mid-1980s Bazelon stopped hearing cases and finally retired from the bench. He died on February 19, 1993, of Alzheimer's disease. Elizabeth McQue lantern slide collection, 19th century

Abstract:
The Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is located in the lower northeast section of the city and is bordered by the Frankford Creek on the south, Castor Avenue on the west, Cheltenham Avenue on the north, and roughly the I-95 expressway on the east. Originally a village, Frankford was incorporated as a borough in 1800 and was later absorbed into the City of Philadelphia in the 1854 Philadelphia city/county consolidation. As of 2015, Frankford is a working-class neighborhood with a diverse population, including a large number of African Americans, Asian Americans, Polish Americans, Italian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and West Indian Americans. The Elizabeth McQue lantern slide collection, 19th century, consists of ten lantern slides of North Frankford Baptist Church and fifty lantern slides showing national patriotic/historical images.

T. Comly Hunter (1848-1931) was a Frankford businessman and philanthropist. Hunter was one of the original members of the Historical Society of Frankford when it was established in 1905. The T. Comly Hunter photograph collection, late 19th century-early 20th century, consists of 1,094 late nineteenth to early twentieth century photographs, primarily of Frankford area buildings, landscapes, and street scenes, but also many images of other Northeast Philadelphia areas and some of the Greater Philadelphia region.

Abstract:
Ruth Plumley's "Lays of Quakerdom" include three sections: "The Execution of Mary Dyer," "Visit of Mary Fisher to the Sultan Mohammed IV," and "James Parnell, the Quaker Proto-Martyr." Each section includes a brief historical summary of each individual, and a narrative poem about each individual. The "Lays" describe the piety of three icons of 17th century Quakerism. The "Lays of Quakerdom" was first published in the "Knickerbocker" magazine during the years 1853-1855, and were later published as a single volume by the Biddle Press in Philadelphia. This volume is a handwritten copy of the single published volume.
