The John Rissel Kessler Papers consist primarily of correspondence from Rissler to his family between 1917 and 1920 - documenting his experience serving as an U.S. Army ambulance driver assigned to the French Army.

Jonathan E. Rhoads Papers, 1934-2002 (bulk) 1802-2002 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Jonathan Rhoads began his long career at the University of Pennsylvania with an internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1932. Upon the completion of the internship, he decided to continue at the University in a residency under I. S. Ravdin, the chief of surgery. He was appointed a full professor of surgery and the J. William White Professor of Surgical Research in 1949. His rise did not stop at the Medical School, but continued into the University proper when he was appointed Provost of the University in 1956, a position he held until 1959. This massive collection documents the life and work of Jonathan Evans Rhoads in multiple dimensions and through all major periods of his long career.

Fairman Rogers graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an A. B. in 1853 and an A. M. in 1856, and served the University as Professor of Civil Engineering until 1864 and then as a Trustee from 1871 to 1886. He also surveys of the Potomac River for the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey. The collection consists of a scrapbook, a diary and 27 other items, including letters, memos, meeting minutes, lists of students, lecture notes, receipts, accounts, and circulars kept during his tenure as Professor.

The Cornelius Nolen Weygandt Papers consists of personal diaries and related correspondence and ephemera that chronicle Weygandt's life from 1849 – 1907.

Hui-lin Li was educated at Soochow University and Yenching University in China and received his PhD in biology from Harvard University in 1942. The collections documents the professional career and life of Dr. Li as a professor of botany and researcher.

This collection consists primarily of documents concerning government administration in Ireland during the tenures of Sir Robert Southwell (1635-1702) and his son Edward Southwell (1671-1730) as Secretaries of State for Ireland. The documents here are largely miscellaneous in nature but are clustered around a few themes. Highlights include lists of rents and financial transactions from the period after Cromwell's invasion and before the Williamite war in Ireland, a 1689 eyewitness letter recounting the battle of Derry, a series of documents related to admiralty, smuggling, and collecting maritime revenue in the first decade of the eighteenth century, an inventory of maps of Ireland, and a substantive series of petitions relating to Richard Blake of Ardfry.
