Abstract:
Collection of over 50 invoices, receipts, and engraved and pictorial letterheads from a wide range of American businesses. Businesses represented in the collection include bakeries, dry goods merchants, tobacco shops, patent medicine dealers, railroads, carpet sellers, hardware stores, lumber dealers, iron works and others mostly in Baltimore and Philadelphia, circa 1860s-1880s.

Collection of business invoices comprises: invoices, receipts, engraved and pictorial letterheads, a few promotional broadsides, and letters chiefly from businesses in Baltimore and Philadelphia operating the 1800s-early 1900s. Businesses represented in the collection include: bakeries, dry goods merchants, tobacco shops, patent medicine dealers, railroads, carpet sellers, hardware stores, lumber dealers, iron works and others. Materials are arranged alphabetically by name and dated when known. Collection includes invoices from Godfrey Keebler, Steam Biscuit and Cracker Baker.
