Overview and metadata sections

Collection of business invoices comprises: invoices, receipts, engraved and pictorial letterheads, a few promotional broadsides, and letters chiefly from businesses in Baltimore and Philadelphia operating the 1800s-early 1900s. Businesses represented in the collection include: bakeries, dry goods merchants, tobacco shops, patent medicine dealers, railroads, carpet sellers, hardware stores, lumber dealers, iron works and others. Materials are arranged alphabetically by name and dated when known. Collection includes invoices from Godfrey Keebler, Steam Biscuit and Cracker Baker.
