Abstract:: The Sarah Wistar Rhoads family papers indicate strong relationships and family ties that spanned the 19th and 20th centuries. Sarah Wistar Rhoads (1839-1920) married William Gibbons Rhoads (1838-1880) on November 28, 1866. At that time, the Rhoads, Gibbons and Wistar families began corresponding, the result being an outstanding collection illustrating family support, friendship and love. These papers include correspondence, financial records, diaries and journals, memorabilia, classwork and notes, copied poems, prayers, sermons and verses, memorials, genealogical research, Quaker material and photographs. "An Account of the Origin and Progress of the Christian Society of Friends at Minden", 1823 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Frederick Schmidt's "An Account of the Origin and Progress of the Christian Society of Friends at Minden" provides a historical and semi-autobiographical narrative of Schmidt and his Friend John Rasch, and their involvement in the Society of Friends in present day Germany. The narrative particularly focuses on John Rasch's efforts to begin a community of Quakers in Minden, Germany, in the late 18th to early 19th centuries. The narrative also discusses Schmidt's own trials in adhering to a pious spiritual life during his early adulthood, his life at the Hessian court, and his discovery and eventual convincement to Quakerism.

"Notes on Early Friends Attending Meetings", 1816-1843 (inclusive)
