This collection contains records created by the Women's Center at Haverford College. The materials begin in the 1970s during the creation of the center and extend through to 2019. Included in this collection are materials about the history of the Women's Center and coeducation at Haverford, log books kept by the staff members, posters about their events, publications they created such as Herstory and newsletters, information sheets about sex and other topics, and some photographs.

This first box contains documentation of the first few years of coursework offered via ExCo. This includes applications, class handouts, and evaluations.The second box contains a variety of documents creating a chronology of the first few years of ExCo at Haverford. This includes research on ExCo programs at other institutions and Haverford, committee minutes before and after the passing of the ExCo plenary resolution, and promotional materials. A collection of papers relating to H. Mather Lippincott, Haverford College class of 1943, dating from his days as an undergraduate and through a number of class reunions, the latest being the 57th reunion in 2000. In addition, there is a cloth doll of a Quaker lady, Mrs. Phillips, created by Franklin, as well as some negatives of work accomplished by the architectural firm of Cope & Lippincott.

Taylor Family papers, 1737-1999 (inclusive)

Abstract:
This collection traces several generations of the Quaker Taylor family, but centers on Francis R. Taylor (1884-1947) and George Washington Taylor (1803-1891). The former was an attorney and collector of information about his own and related families, as well as local historical information. The latter, who ran a free produce store in Philadelphia in the period before the American Civil War, was connected through his interests in free labor to many correspondents.

Douglas V. and Dorothy M. Steere papers, 1896-2003 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Douglas and Dorothy Steere were prominent figures of the Quaker movement in the twentieth century, and deeply committed to the causes of peace and spiritual enrichment. This commitment is evident in their involvement with Quaker-led relief work after World War II, Quaker spiritual retreats, international diplomacy, and Dorothy's work with the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. Douglas taught philosophy at several institutions including Haverford College, and published extensively on topics in Quaker philosophy and history. This collection contains considerable material related to Douglas's work as a writer, professor, and diplomat. Given his role as a distinguished figure within 20th century Quakerism, this material is also relevant to researchers interested in recent Quaker history as a whole. There is also some fascinating material produced and collected by Dorothy related to the Civil Rights movement, including a letter from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Ann Morrissett Davidon and William C. Davidon Papers, 1949- (inclusive)

Abstract:
Ann Morrissett Davidon (1925-2004), was a writer, editor, educator, pacifist and peace activist through her entire life. William Cooper Davidon(1927- 2013), was a professor of physics at Haverford College and (retired 1994), pacifist, peace activist. The two were married in 1963 and both continued to be very active in peace, pacifist, anti-Vietnam War, and social justice organizations. They advocated and practiced war-tax resistance. In 1971, William Davidon was named an "unindicted co-conspirator" in a plot to kidnap Henry Kissenger. Ann Davidon remained active in peace issues for her entire life.
