Abstract:: This collection contains drawings, project and office files, models, and photographic materials related to the career of architect Anant D. Raje (1929-2009). Materials are dated from 1961 to 2009 and reflect the intensity of Raje's work in higher education and industrial development in India, as well as his collaborations with architect Louis I. Kahn. Projects of note include the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Center for Environmental Planning and Technology University, and the National Dairy Development Board. Other materials include Raje's writing and teaching records, datebooks and notebooks, as well as travel and family photography.

Edmund N. Bacon records, 1910-2005 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Edmund Norwood Bacon (1910-2005) was an American urban planner, architect, educator, and author. He served as the executive director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission from 1949 to 1970. He authored the seminal urban planning book Design of Cities. The Edmund N. Bacon records (collection: 292) contains materials that are related to his work before and after his association with the Philadelphia City Planning Commission. While some materials related to this period can be found in the collection, the bulk remains with the city of Philadelphia.

Max Leopold Margolis Collection, 1891-1932 (inclusive) 1894-1932 (bulk)

Abstract:: Max Margolis (1866-1932) was a professor of Semitic languages and Hebrew Exegesis at Hebrew Union College and the University of California in Berkeley, before becoming a professor of Biblical Philology at Dropsie College in Philadelphia from 1909 until his death. The Max Leopold Margolis Collection dates from 1891 to 1932, and consists of Margolis' drafts of publications, correspondence, drafts and notes for the Jewish Publication Society's 1917 translation of the Hebrew Bible, and newspaper clippings of his work.

Abstract:: Abraham Neuman (1890-1970) was a rabbi, scholar, professor of history and the second president of Dropsie College in Philadelphia. The Abraham A. Neuman Papers date from 1910 to 1966 and consists of correspondence, diaries, Neuman's professional writings and drafts, subject files, and materials relating to Neuman's time as the president of Dropsie College.

Abstract:: Dr. Nathaniel Reich (1876-1943) was a polyglot of over 50 languages, a curator of the Egyptian section of the Penn Museum, and a professor in Egyptology at Dropsie College. The Nathaniel Julius Reich collection largely consists of Reich's personal correspondence, along with his professional notebooks, writings and articles, dating from 1888 to 1942.

Abstract:: Wilhelm Reich (1852-1929) was the chief rabbi of the communities of Savar, Baden and Neunkirchen, an essayist and an author of multiple books. The Wilhelm Reich Collection consists of commentaries on the Torah and Talmud, sermons, correspondence, writings, financial records and notebooks, dating from 1870 to 1929.

Abstract:: Mayer Sulzberger (1843-1923) was a lawyer, a judge on the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, and one of the founders of Dropsie College in Philadelphia. The Mayer Sulzberger Collection consists of correspondence, materials relating to the American Jewish Committee, family materials, photographs, legal documents, newspaper clippings and printed books, dating from 1857 to 1923.
