Abstract:
The Mütter Museum was founded in 1856 when Dr. Thomas Dent Mütter bequeathed his personal medical museum to the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. From Thomas Mütter's collection, the museum grew as a noted repository for unique collections of medical specimens across the world. This collection of the records of the Mütter Museum span the years 1892 through 2015, although the bulk of the material dates from 1988 through 2007. The records document the past exhibits displayed in the Museum, "Only One Man Died" and "The Medical World of Benjamin Franklin;"; grant funded projects, including the 2011 Quay Brothers film and the Museum Assessment Program (1994 to1995 and 2004 to 2006); portrait appraisals and acknowledgment letters; press clippings; and special projects, including wet specimen conservation in 1987, as well as various projects about the Hyrtl skull collection. Records of the Committee on Fellowship II, 1873-1892; 1918-1978 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Records of the Committee on Fellowship span the years 1983 to 1892, although the bulk of the material dates from 1974 to 1978. Included in the collection are three volumes of list of Fellows and deceased Fellows, dating from 1973 to 1892, and 1918 to 1979. Correspondence and reports from meetings and regarding the status are Fellows date from 1949 to 1978. The Committee on Fellowship became a standing Committee of the College of Physicians in 1972. The by-laws of this year state that the Committee on Fellowship "shall seek candidates for Fellowship and help process their nominations" and "investigate every candidate for Fellowship thoroughly".

Abstract:
Established in 1788, the Library of the College of Physicians served as Philadelphia's central medical library for over 150 years, serving medical schools, hospitals, physicians and other health professionals. Today, it is an independent research library devoted to the history of medicine and serves hundreds of scholars, health professionals, students and popular writers each year. The College of Physicians of Philadelphia Library records (1882 to 2005) extensively documents the administration of the College Library, as well as its public services and functions. The collection contains the papers of several librarians, curators, and other library staff, including Andrea Kenyon, Marjorie Smink, Elliott Morse, and Anthony Aguirre. The collection largely comprises correspondence, reports and records, and the bulk of the material dates from 1953 to 2007.

Philadelphia General Hospital Osler Memorial Committee and Blockley Historical Museum miscellaneous records, 1886-1950 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Osler Memorial Committee was formed in October 1939. The objective of the committee was to create a museum and memorial to Sir William Osler in the old autopsy house of the Philadelphia General Hospital and to organize a ceremony marking the dedication of the building. After the completion of its duties, the Osler Memorial Committee was discharged in December 1940. At this time, it was decided that a new committee, the Osler Memorial and Blockley Historical Museum Committee, would be appointed to oversee the daily administration of the museum. This collection contains a small number of documents from several accessions. These documents appear to be duplicative to other collections held by the College of Physicians Historical Medical Library regarding the Osler Memorial Committee and Blockley Historical Museum.

Abstract:
The Children's Seashore House (CSH) was established Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1872 as a rehabilitation center for children. Founded on the belief in the restorative powers of the ocean and fresh seashore air, CSH was the first pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the nation, and the fourth oldest pediatric hospital in the United States. Today, CSH is located in Philadelphia, on the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) campus, after having been acquired by CHOP in 1998. Remarkable aspects of this collection include correspondence from the early 20th century, a number of bound volumes from the late 19th to the 20th centuries, and an extensive collection of photographs portraying the pediatric patients of CSH throughout its existence.
