They met biennially until 2011. The records include minutes from planning sessions, printed programs, evaluations, other Conference materials, and some photographs.

FWCC's World Office is in London, England, and it has four sections: Africa, Americas, Asia and West Pacific, and Europe amd Middle East. FWCC's Section of the Americas is based in Philadelphia, Pa. George A. Hoadley Family Papers, 1850-1957 (inclusive)

Abstract:

The collection contains the papers of George A. Hoadley, long-time professor of physics at Swarthmore College and secretary of the Franklin Institute, as well as papers of his extended family. Of particular interest are diaries kept by his second wife's parents, Carrie B. Kilgore and Damon Y. Kilgore, both attorneys and reformers. George Hoadley's correspondence with his children include mention of people and events in the Borough of Swarthmore and Swarthmore College. A founder of the Swarthmore College Camera Club, he was a avid amateur photographer. Approximately 2,000 of his glass negatives were preserved in the family home; they illustrate Swarthmore College and local homes and sites from circa 1899-1929.

The records document the planning and progress of renovations of Friends Center, a campus of Quaker-related organizations in Center City, Philadelphia. Friends Center Corporation was organized in 1972 to oversee construction plans. It is responsible for managing the Friends Center property with the goal of furthering the beliefs and testimonies of the Reigious Society of Friends. Documents illustrate Quaker process in the world of business and construction. Includes minutes, financial, legal, blueprints, and related papers.

Fisher-Brinton family papers, 1846-2020 (bulk) 1764-2020 (inclusive)

Abstract:

The Fisher-Brinton collection contains the papers of an Irish-American and Pennsylvania family with roots in the earliest years of the Society of Friends. It includes correspondence, diaries, memoirs, photographs, scrapbooks, and other materials that reflect family and Quaker concerns, and, in particular, the Conservative branch of the Society of Friends. Abraham Fisher (1823-1909) was a member of a prominent Quaker family of Youghal County, Ireland. In 1871, he assumed a position as book-keeper for the Alexandra Colony, an English settlement on the San Javier River in rural Argentina. Unaware of the increasing violence in the region, his wife and children joined him in early 1872. In 1874 the family moved to Dymond City, North Carolina, and eventually, to Southeastern Pennsylvania. Abstract:

The collection contains the correspondence of John Morrison Michener (1894-1986), Quaker high school chemistry teacher from Wichita, Kansas, who served as a medic in France during WWI. His letters provide detailed descriptions of his training in Camp Funston, Kansas, and his service in field hospitals in France and in a hospital in Bitburg, Germany, after the end of the War.

Abstract:

Charles Thomas Hancock, II, was a Quaker historian and activist. He served as a CO in World War II and was a member of Scarsdale Monthly Meeting and later Mount Toby Monthly Meeting. He served as editor of a newsletter, the New York Young Friends Correspondent from 1949-1951. The small collection contains largely business correspondence concerning the Correspondent, with some older Quaker material for reference. The Correspondent was published from 1939 to about 1951, supported by tbe two New York Yearly Meetings. It focused on Quaker history and concerns, particularly peace, with news from other Young Friends organizations and yearly meetings.

Newbold-Fox Family Papers, 1710-1960 (inclusive)

Abstract:

The collection is composed largely of property and legal papers which descended in the Quaker Newbold and Fox families of Burlington County, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Newbolds were among the earliest settlers and prominent landowners in West Jersey. The Fox family of Philadelphia was descended from Justinian Fox who emigrated to America in 1685. In 1796, the family purchased a number of tracts of land in western Pennsylvania from the Commonwealth. A descendant, Samuel Mickle Fox (1851-1905) was a successful estates lawyer and antiquarian with an interest in family history. He married Elizabeth Richards Newbold in 1890, and their daughter inherited the records, genealogical research, and miscellaneous papers which include some correspondence and photographs. Of special interest are the property records concerning the Cedar Swamp Tract, New Jersey (Lenape grant to Daniel Leeds, Samuel Goldy, and Tunis Titus).

New York Friends Center records, 1938-1964 (inclusive)

Abstract:

Established in 1938 by the New York Monthly Meetings (Hicksite and Orthodox) at the 20th Street meeting house, the New York Friends Center was created initially to provide a meeting place for Quakers and to serve as a Quaker information and reception center in New York City. Lectures and social events were held. Sponsorship of service projects began in the 1940's. In November 1962, the American Friends Service Committee assumed responsibility for the programs of the New York Friends Center. The records document the activities and events of the New York Friends Center and consist of minutes, financial records, correspondence, newsletters and newspaper clippings, particularly of the Hiroshima Maidens Project, 1955 – 1956.
