Abstract:: This collection contains the records of the professional work and practice of George Kreier, Jr., a Philadelphia-based decorative and structural mold maker, designer, and inventor. It includes architectural drawings, professional and project correspondence, patent research as well as the final patents, project related photographic material (including descriptions and tear sheet layouts for advertising the work of the firm), a few competitor catalogs, and plaster and plasticine sample objects.

Abstract:: Elihu Katz (born 1926) is an American Israeli sociologist and media scholar who has made substantial contributions to the field of communication, specifically in the areas of media effects, diffusion, uses and gratifications and reception, and media events. This primary portion of Katz's papers documents his scholarly and professional activities at the Guttman Institute of Applied Social Research, and Annenberg Schools for Communication at the University of California and University of Pennsylvania, respectively. Materials pertaining to the University of Chicago, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Israel Broadcasting Authority are also present, but less substantially so. The collection is divided into ten series and includes correspondence; drafts of talks, papers, articles, and books; research notes; conference materials; teaching materials and course documents; public opinion studies and reports; Israeli broadcasting materials; and biographical documents.

Abstract:: Richard R. Schilling III was an American television producer who worked on soap operas and anthology series. He is best known for his work with the soap opera Passions. The Schilling soap opera collection is primarily composed of props, memorabilia, episodes, audio/visual material, and records pertaining to his production work on Passions as well as General Hospital: Night Shift.

Madalon Amenta papers, 1928-2015

Abstract:: Madalon Amenta is a leader in hospice care and practice. She found the Pennsylvania Hospice Network, be a founding member of the Hospice Nurse Association, and was active in many other organizations, including the (then) National Hospice Organization. Abstract:: Archie and Mary Hanlan are known for their writings, educational efforts, and research on thanatology. Archie Hanlan lived with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for two years before his death in 1973. During his illness, he wrote and taught about the experience of death and caring for the dying. This collection contains papers related to the Hanlans' publications.
