Abstract:: The University of Pennsylvania Law School was founded in 1850 as the law department of the University of Pennsylvania. The school has undergone several renovations and construction projects over the years. In addition, the school has engaged in institutional development activities, including alumni relations and other promotional programs. Abstract:: This collection documents the founding, flourishing and eventual closing of the Presbyterian School of Nursing, a hospital-based nursing school in Philadelphia. The hospital itself was founded in 1871 under the sponsorship of the Presbyterian Church. Its nurse training program was begun in 1889. The collection's strength is the relative completeness of student records, good documentation of the school's curricula and teaching materials. The supportive role both the Ladies Aid Society and the Alumni Association played in the growth of the School are evident in these records.

Annie Warburton Goodrich papers, 1871-1955 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Annie Warburton Goodrich is best known for establishing the United States Student Nurse Reserve, more commonly known as the Army School of Nursing, in 1918-1919. She later became the first dean of the Yale University School of Nursing. Her papers include files of organizations with which she associated, biographical material, miscellaneous documents, and photographs. The collection also includes a typed manuscript of Harriett Rose (Berger) Koch's biography, America's Militant Angel.
