- John Jonik is a postwar and contemporary magazine and political cartoonist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania whose works have appeared in a wide spectrum of publications ranging from local, independent newspapers, trade and professional journals, to national newspapers and magazines including: The New Yorker, Playboy, National Lampoon, Cosmopolitan, Better Homes and Gardens, Wall Street Journal, and Esquire. His cartoons provide satirical humor and opinions on a range of themes and issues such as social activism, the environment, marijuana use, and healthcare. The John Jonik papers comprise: original published and unpublished cartoons, sketchbooks, tearsheets, printed materials, correspondence, business papers and royalty statements, catalogs, and artifacts.
