Haverford College Athletics scrapbooks, 1896-1907 (inclusive)

Abstract:: There are three scrapbooks in the collection. The first (1896) deals primarily with the Haverford cricket team. The second (1905-1906) focuses on the Haverford football team, with additional clippings for Haverford cricket, relays, gymnastics, debate, and soccer, as well as clippings about general college happenings. The third (1906-1907) also focuses on Haverford football, including articles on football games, recruits, alumni activity, and pictures of members of the team.

Haverford Athenaeum records, 1858-1888 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The Haverford Athenaeum records span the years 1858 to 1888, up until the eventual merging of the Haverford Athenaeum with the Everett Society in 1889. The collection contains constitution, by-laws, meeting minutes, treasure accounds, and a published periodical The Gem.

Abstract:: This collection details the financial transactions, elections, and major projects of Neometha Bathing Society from 1873 to 1878. This includes payment for labor and supplies, officer information, and the construction and maintainance of "Julia's Bath," a pond created by the organization to provide swimming accomodations to its members.

Howard L. Haines autograph and composition books, 1860-1861 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Howard Haines's autograph book contains five categories: Faculty, Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshman. Each entry includes basic information on members of these categories, except in the case of the faculty, which was left almost entirely blank. His composition book contains several essays concerning animals, historical and contemporary figures, national histories, and notes on several scientific and mathematical subjects.

Thomas Wildes commonplace book, 1856

Abstract:: The Francis Barton Gummere songbook and notebooks consists of three volumes of papers created by Gummere. There is a songbook created during his time at Haverford College in addition to his notebooks on Germanic life and the philosphy of Baruch Spinoza.

John Randolph Winslow commonplace book, 1836-1840 (inclusive)

Extent:: 0.1 linear ft. (1 volume)
Abstract:: The commonplace book was created while Winslow was attending Haverford College. Winslow entered the college in 1838 in the Junior class, and transcribed many songs during his time there. Handwritten notes and excerpts can be found in the songbook as well. The book ends in 1840, presumably when Winslow graduated. He later went on to become a professor, physician, and surgeon in Baltimore, Maryland.

Randolph Wood commonplace book, 1856-1858 (inclusive)

Extent:: .1 linear ft. (1 volume)
Abstract:: This is a commonplace book with signatures of several well known Quakers who were connected with Westtown School and Haverford College. It includes signatures and notes from officers and peers, mainly from Haverford class of 1858. Along with the autographs are the dates they were collected, the hometown of the person, and the place where the autograph was collected.
