Abstract:

This collection represents materials accumulated by Richard Oulahan during his three-decade-long career in Latin America, beginning with his work as a Peace Corps volunteer for Honduran labor unions and spanning his employment with the American Institute of Free LaborDevelopment (AIFLD). The collection includes materials from 1590 to 2017, with the majority from Oulahan's career in Latin America from 1969 to 1996. Documents dated as prior to 1950 are not the original documents and have been either reprinted or copied. While the majority of the collection is in English, a substantial amount is in Spanish and a few documents are in Portuguese.
