This is a finding aid. It is a description of archival material held at the Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Unless otherwise noted, the materials described below are physically available in their reading room, and not digitally available through the web.

Overview and metadata sections

PG6 Subject Reference Files consists primarily of pamphlets, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and other materials (mostly secondary source), collected at various times from various sources, and organized by topic. It does not include files on individual people or families (see PG 7), Quaker meetings (see PG 1), Quaker schools (see PG 2), or Quaker organizations (see PG 3)

Files are in alphabetical order.

Materials were collected at various times from various sources by Friends Historical Library staff.

This collection is maintained in filing cabinets in the Friends Historical Library workroom. In December 2021, an outdated internal finding aid was updated to match the current contents. At that time, a small number of folders were discarded or consolidated. A few folders whose titles included potentially offensive or harmful terms were renamed, although researchers may still encounter these terms on the folder contents.
