Abstract:
The Doylestown Nature Club (Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania), still in existence as of 2013, was organized in 1907 by Mrs. Irvin Megargee James. Federated in 1914, and incorporated in 1970, its purpose is "to provide a love of nature; to protect birds, animals and wildflowers from ruthless destruction; to conserve our natural resources; to beautify the community; and to educate in the field of nature." The Doylestown Nature Club records, 1912-2010 (bulk 1956-2010), consist of various records that document the history of the Club, including minutes, newsletters, member booklets and directories, some financial records, a significant amount of ephemera such as programs and newspaper clippings, and photographs relating to Club-sponsored activities and events.

Abstract:
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism and American history that is open to any woman who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. The DAR was founded in 1890, and a chapter in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia was established eight years later. The Germantown Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution records, 1898-1998, contain scrapbooks, administrative records, and pamphlets/ephemera. Scrapbooks dating from 1898 to 1978 make up the bulk of the collection.

Abstract:
The Women’s Club of Frankford was originally founded as the Mother's Club of Frankford by a group of five women in 1905 in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Mother's Club was established with the vision of improving the welfare of children in the community. The Club officially became the Women's Club of Frankford in 1921, and affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs and the State Federation of Women's Clubs. The Club was active until 2008. The Women's Club of Frankford records, 1923-2008, consist of minute books, financial records, newsletters, event programs, pamphlets, correspondence, scrapbooks, and other materials from the Women's Club of Frankford. There are also materials from the junior section of the club, the Junior Women's Club of Frankford.

Abstract:
The Woman's Club of Phoenixville, one of the two oldest women's clubs in the state, was organized in 1884, granted state federation in 1897, and incorporated into the General Federation of Women's Clubs in 1901. As of 2013, its goal is "to develop the educational, civic and social interest of its members and to advance the welfare of the community." The Woman's Club of Phoenixville records, 1903-2010, consist of eight scrapbooks (1958-1978), about six minute books (1959-2010), annual reports/membership directories (1903-circa 2005, incomplete), and a few other materials from the Club.

Travel Club of Bristol (Pa.) records, 1901-1995 (inclusive)

Abstract:
On March 1, 1901, Mrs. Emlen Martin organized the Travel Club of Bristol, Pennsylvania with sixteen charter members. The initial mission of the Travel Club was "the general improvement of its members in history, literature, art, and the vital interests of the day," but its objective soon changed to include its desire to be more service oriented toward the community. Throughout its existence, the Travel Club of Bristol supported various organizations, including the Bristol Junior-Senior High School, Washington Crossing Foundation, and Lower Bucks Hospital. In 1995, due to low membership, the group voted to disband the Travel Club and donate its remaining funds. The Travel Club of Bristol (Pa.) records, 1901-1995, document the group’s history and activities through financial and administrative records, scrapbooks, and various other materials such as correspondence, photographs, and ephemera.

The Nether Providence Township Council of Republican Women, a local branch of the Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women, was founded in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, in 1963 and disbanded in 2005. The purposes of the organization were to promote the Republican Party and its candidates as well as to advance women in political knowledge and political activity. The bulk of the Nether Providence Council of Republican Women records, 1963-2005, is scrapbooks; also included are administrative and financial records, membership materials, event planning materials, newsletters, and framed certificates and awards.

Its mission is "to develop the educational, civic, and special interests of its members and to advance the welfare of the community." It was federated in the General Federation of Women's Clubs for most of its history, but disaffiliated in 2001. The Woman's Club of Downingtown records, 1914-2007, consist of various administrative, financial, and other records from the club's founding in 1914 through the beginning of the 21st century. The New Century Club of Chester, part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, was founded in 1893 in the city of Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. In addition to holding lectures and classes for members on science, literature, languages, and other topics, the club established a free kindergarten and was involved in other philanthropic projects. The New Century Club of Chester records, 1893-1993, include annual reports, guest books, materials about the building and selling of the clubhouse, clippings, and other materials.

Abstract:
Yardley Borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was settled in 1682 by Quaker minister William Yeardley who purchased a tract of land from William Penn. Following the completion of the Bristol-New Hope section of the Delaware Canal in 1831, new commerce and trade poured into the town, then called "Yardleyville." The town continued to grow following the completion of the New York branch of the railroad in 1876 that included a nearby station. Yardley was incorporated as a borough in 1895. The Yardley Historical Association local history collection, 1741-2013 (bulk 1883-2013), is organized into two series: I. Subject files and II. Manuscripts. The Subject files include pamphlets and ephemera, photocopies of historical documents, and photographs, relating to local history topics, such as floods and Black history in Yardley.
