Abstract:
The Friends Committee on War Tax Concerns (FCWTC) was created in 1985 under the sponsorship of the Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC). Its stated purpose was to address the widespread and growing concern in the Society of Friends on many aspects of war taxes. This collection contains the records of the Friends Committee on War Tax Concerns, including minutes, correspondence, publicity, and financial records.

Abstract:
The mission of the Friends World Committee for Consultation is to promote international contacts and cooperation among Friends, and it meets triennially at different locations all over the world. FWCC's World Office is in London, England, and it has four sections: Africa, Americas, Asia and West Pacific, and Europe amd Middle East. FWCC's Section of the Americas is based in Philadelphia, Pa. This collection contains photographs, slides, audiocassette tapes, and CDs/DVDs relating to the American Section of the Friends World Committee for Consultation, Section of the Americas.

Abstract:
The records document the planning and progress of renovations of Friends Center, a campus of Quaker-related organizations in Center City, Philadelphia. Friends Center Corporation was organized in 1972 to oversee construction plans. It is responsible for managing the Friends Center property with the goal of furthering the beliefs and testimonies of the Reigious Society of Friends. Documents illustrate Quaker process in the world of business and construction. Includes minutes, financial, legal, blueprints, and related papers.

Fisher-Brinton family papers, 1846-2020 (bulk) 1764-2020 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Fisher-Brinton collection contains the papers of an Irish-American and Pennsylvania family with roots in the earliest years of the Society of Friends. It includes correspondence, diaries, memoirs, photographs, scrapbooks, and other materials that reflect family and Quaker concerns, and, in particular, the Conservative branch of the Society of Friends. Abraham Fisher (1823-1909) was a member of a prominent Quaker family of Youghal County, Ireland. In 1871, he assumed a position as book-keeper for the Alexandra Colony, an English settlement on the San Javier River in rural Argentina. Unaware of the increasing violence in the region, his wife and children joined him in early 1872. In 1874 the family moved to Dymond City, North Carolina, and eventually, to Southeastern Pennsylvania. Louis N. Robinson and Caroline Hadley Robinson Correspondence, 1890-1936 (bulk) 1885-2021 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Louis N. Robinson, Swarthmore College Class of 1905, was a prominent Quaker economist and penologist. On June 17, 1908, he married Caroline Hadley (1885-1946) under the care of Swarthmore Monthly Meeting. She was the daughter of Walter Hadley and Alice Paxson Hadley and a graduate of Swarthmore College, Class of 1906. The collection contains Louis Robinson's letters 1901-1908, Caroline Hadley's letters 1895-1908, and transcripts with annotations by their granddaughter, Christine Erb. The letter vividly describe student life at Swarthmore College and during Louis's graduate study in Germany as well as family, Quaker, and social concerns. Also included are photographs of the Paxson branch of the family.
