Abstract:

Alexander Kendrick was a journalist, foreign correspondent, author, and radio and television reporter affiliated with The Public Ledger, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). He is best known for his reporting of international events in World War II and postwar years. The Alexander Kendrick papers comprise radio broadcast and television typescripts, correspondence, contracts, edited book typescripts, book research notes, clippings, long-playing records, and photographs.

Abstract:

Max Margolis (1866-1932) was a professor of Semitic languages and Hebrew Exegesis at Hebrew Union College and the University of California in Berkeley, before becoming a professor of Biblical Philology at Dropsie College in Philadelphia from 1909 until his death. The Max Leopold Margolis Collection dates from 1891 to 1932, and consists of Margolis' drafts of publications, correspondence, drafts and notes for the Jewish Publication Society's 1917 translation of the Hebrew Bible, and newspaper clippings of his work.

Albert J. Wood (1910-2006) was a businessman and philanthropist who served on Dropsie College's Board of Directors. The Albert J. Wood Papers document the change from Dropsie College to the Annenberg Research Institute and then to, what is today known as, the Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies in affiliation with the University of Pennsylvania. The collection consists of correspondence with Walter H. Annenberg, records of Drospie College and subsequently the Annenberg Research Institute and the Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies, and documentation of various business trips, dating from 1982 to 2000.
