Madalon Amenta papers, 1928-2015

Abstract:: Madalon Amenta is a leader in hospice care and practice. She found the Pennsylvania Hospice Network, be a founding member of the Hospice Nurse Association, and was active in many other organizations, including the (then) National Hospice Organization. These papers document Amenta’s research, consultative and speaking engagements, and her involvement with professional organizations.

Abstract:: The Hedgerow Theatre Company was established in 1923 by Jasper Deeter, a New York based actor and director. Located in the Rose Valley Arts and Crafts Community of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Hedgerow holds the distinction as the longest serving Repertory Theatre in America. The Hedgerow Theatre Company records contains a wide variety of materials, from business records and show materials to member ephemera and photographs. The collection provides both a practical and intimate look into the workings of this repertory theatre.

Abstract:: Rabbi Michael Strassfeld (born February 8, 1950) is an American Reconstructionist Rabbi. Raised in a Orthodox Jewish household, Strassfeld was profoundly influenced by the burgeoning Jewish anti-establishment movement in the Boston area in the 1960s and early 1970s. The Michael Strassfeld papers contain the records of the his education and life's work. Represented are elements of his Orthodox upbringing, traditional Jewish education, influence of the Jewish anti-establishment and countercultural movements of the 1960s and early 1970s, and his training and practice as a Reconstructionist Rabbi.

It has played an increasingly central role in the sale of rare books and manuscripts over the course of the 20th century. This finding aid serves as a guide to the more than 500 Christie's catalogs held in Print Coll. 43 as well as Christie's catalogs post-1977 which are not present in Print Coll. 43 but are held elsewhere in the Penn Libraries. Those catalogs with box and folder numbers present are in Print Coll. 43, those with library call numbers listed can be found in the Penn Libraries catalog, those listed as being in Print Coll. 28 are located in the Lawrence J. Schoenberg collection of catalogs.
