Abstract:
The Philadelphia Sculptors, a non profit organization, was founded in 1996 in order to promote contemporary sculpture and to serve as an advocate for sculptors in the greater Philadelphia region. The collection consists of administrative records documenting the founding and operation of the organization; artist files, including artists' biographies, statements, and photographic examples of works; and exhibition files for roughly 60 exhibits from 1996 until 2022, when this collection was donated.

Ashley Bryan (1923-2022) was an artist and storyteller best known for his award-winning children's book illustrations with particular emphasis on African folktales and African-American spirituals. Germann, printed material regarding his artwork and exhibitions, and digital images and video of Ashley Bryan presenting at the Kinkaid School.

Abstract:
This collection documents the career of Carol Joyce (born 1946), a bookbinder, conservator, designer, and artist, specializing in book and paper restoration, limited edition books, conservation enclosures, and the rebinding of damaged books. She owned and operated Academy Books and Bindery, in Stockton, New Jersey, from 1983 to 2008. The collection contains many examples of limited-edition books that she produced or collected, as well as visual and written documentation for some of her projects.

Stanley Wolpert (1927-2019) was an American historian and author on the history of India, Pakistan and the Indian subcontinent. The Stanley Wolpert papers measure 11.5 linear feet, date mostly from 1945-2000, and consist primarily of material relating to Wolpert's research on Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the history and politics of the Indian subcontinent.

Henry J. Sommer papers, 1966-2014 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Henry J. Sommer is one of the leading figures in bankruptcy and consumer law. Born in 1949 in Rochester, New York, Sommer received his JD cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1974. After graduating from Harvard, he worked for Community Legal Services in Philadelphia as Project Head of its Consumer Law Project until 1996. In addition to his role with Community Legal Services, Sommer has served on bankruptcy rules committees and worked as editor-in-chief of Collier on Bankruptcy. The Henry J. Sommer Papers, 1966-2014, include National Bankruptcy Conference papers, materials from Continuing Legal Education seminars and other meetings at which Sommer lectured, copies of published manuscripts written by Sommer, and other material related to Sommer's work with consumer law and legal reform.

Abstract:
Harry Dixon Jr. (1944-2006), a lawyer from Nebraska, wanted to form an organization with the dual purpose of providing Congress with unbiased views on legislation and creating an institution that could keep the bankruptcy community aware of legislative activities affecting them. In February 1982, Dixon incorporated under Nebraska law this new organization which was to be called the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). The records of the American Bankruptcy Institute document two main areas of the organization: the history and operating activities of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the organization's professional activities, publications, and research on bankruptcy related issues. The materials date from 1982-2013, with the bulk from 1985-1996. This collection is comprised of records relating to the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Abstract:
Lawrence Waggoner is considered a prominent figure in law reform in the field of wills, trusts, and future interests. Not only did Waggoner teach law for 44 years, he also had an influential role outside the classroom. He served as adviser for the Restatement (Third) of Trusts, reporter for the Restatement (Third) of Property, Wills, and Other Donative Transfers, director of research for the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Trusts and Estates Acts, reporter for the Uniform Probate Code which he completed the revisions for in 2008, and one of his last publications was the last volume of the Restatement (Third) of Property: Wills and Other Donative Transfers.
