Abstract:
Quakertown, Pennsylvania, incorporated in 1855, is a town located in the northeast portion of Upper Bucks County. The town remained quite small until the mid-nineteenth century, when the construction of the North Pennsylvania Railroad helped turn it into a significant commercial center. The Quakertown Historical Society collection of ledgers and deeds, 1767-1991, consists of various ledgers from different creators, as well as an assemblage of local deeds. It seems likely that the majority of ledgers are Quakertown Borough records, although many are not clearly identified. The collection also includes record books from Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society, Camp #489 (Quakertown, Pa.), Powelton Cut Glass Company, and several unidentified sources.

Abstract:
Willoughby H. Reed (b. 1856) was a doctor, pharmacist, and historian who lived in Norristown, Pennsylvania. His father-in-law, Samuel F. Jarrett (1825-1917), was the County Treasurer for Montgomery County, and a farmer. The Dr. W. H. Reed family papers, 1864-1939, include genealogical research on the Reed family by W. H. Reed, as well as personal papers of W. H. Reed and S. F. Jarrett.

Abstract:
Frank Rumler (1917-2005)--who a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter called "Mr. Limerick"--was a civic-minded resident of Limerick Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. A handyman at Bethlehem Steel Plant in Pottstown, he also served several terms as township supervisor and was a member of the Linfield United Church of Christ. The Frank Rumler papers, 1870-1995, include personal papers of Frank Rumler, as well as documents pertaining to his terms as a township supervisor and his involvement with the Linfield United Church of Christ.

Abstract:
Bristol Borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, became an important area due to its location along the Delaware River, a major land route, and subsequent rail line linking Philadelphia and New York City. Incorporated in 1720, it served as the county seat from 1705 to 1726. The Bristol (Pa.) Borough municipal records, 1730 to 1998, consist of Borough Council meeting minutes, roll books, ordinances, and financial records. Also included are records from various departments and subgroups of the Borough, in particular Bristol Water Department and Police Department records, and Justice of the Peace dockets.

Hatboro Borough records, circa 1885-1905

Abstract:
In 1715, the Crooked Billet Inn was built by John Dawson in what is now known as Hatboro Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was a farming village that boasted one of the first rural libraries in Pennsylvania, the Union Library Company. The Hatboro Borough records, circa 1885-1905, is primarily made up of the Borough of Hatboro government financial records, including cancelled checks and check stubs, bills and receipts, and bonds. There is also an area map, and several quarantine signs for chicken pox and other communicable diseases.

Yardley Borough records, 1895-1967 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Yardley Borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was settled in 1682 by Quaker minister William Yeardley, who purchased a tract of land from William Penn. Following the completion of the Bristol-New Hope section of the Delaware Canal in 1831, new commerce and trade poured into the town, then called "Yardleyville." The town continued to grow following the completion of the New York branch of the railroad in 1876 that included a nearby station. Yardley was incorporated as a borough in 1895. The Yardley Borough records, 1895-1967, include scattered administrative and financial records of the Borough, as well as records from the Borough Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Health.

Harman D. Rees was (1873-1964) was a farmer and active public servant in Charlestown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. He wrote a detailed history of the township, Historical Sketches of Charlestown Township, completed around 1943. The Harman D. Rees family papers, 1710-1964 (bulk 1890-1964), include scrapbooks, newspaper issues and clippings, research notes, correspondence, family papers, hand drawn maps and blueprints, photographs, and other documents relating to Rees's research interests--Charlestown Township history, birds, plants, and Rees family genealogy--as well as farming practices, family life, municipal affairs, and additional topics.

Settled in the early 1700s and incorporated in 1893, the Borough of Lansdowne, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, has a rich industrial and commercial history. Located just six miles from the center of Philadelphia, the town became a haven for middle-class families beginning in the early 20th century as well as a popular design location for the area's best architects, including renowned Philadelphia architect Frank Furness. The Delaware County Historical Society collection on Lansdowne Borough, 1919-2012, consists of records and materials relating to numerous Lansdowne institutions, organizations, and events. About one third of the collection pertains to Lansdowne-Aldan High School (formerly Lansdowne High School) class reunions.
