Abstract:
Previously a sparsely-settled farming area, early development in Spring City (Chester County, Pennsylvania) and adjacent Royersford (Montgomery County, Pennsylvania) coincided with the opening of the Schuylkill Navigation Canal in 1824. Industry in the two towns continued to grow during the 19th century, especially with the construction of major rail lines through both. By the early 20th century, Spring City and Royersford were booming industrial towns with extensive stove factories, glass and bottle works, and embroidery, hosiery, and knitting mills, among other businesses. The Spring-Ford Area Historical Society digital collection, circa 2000-2012, consists of over 30,000 digital images of various documents, particularly photographs and postcards, relating to Spring City and Royersford, Pennsylvania local history. Some, but not all, of the original items are owned by the Spring-Ford Area Historical Society.

The Black Horse Inn was an early rural inn located in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The inn is believed to have been built in the 18th century. The Black Horse Inn Advisory Committee was established to save and restore the building. The Black Horse Inn Advisory Committee records, 1988-2012, are comprised of reports, correspondence, and other documents relating to the history and restoration of the inn.

Springfield Township Historical Society Wharton Sinkler Estate collection, 1926-2002 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Wharton Sinkler Estate (also known as Lane's End, Guildford, or the Rotan Estate) is located in Wyndmoor, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The mansion was built by Samuel P. Rotan and Allethaire Ludlow Crummer in 1925 and used by the University of Pennsylvania as the Wharton Sinkler Conference Center from 1971 to 1999. The Springfield Township Historical Society Wharton Sinkler Estate collection, 1926-2002, consists primarily of records relating to the University of Pennsylvania's subdivision and sale of the property, 1998-2002, with some additional materials relating to the history of the property and its inhabitants. Of special interest is a photograph album of the mansion's construction.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was founded in North America in 1819 as a branch of the British benevolent association. Economy Lodge #397 in Collegeville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania was chartered in 1850 and closed circa 2004. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Economy Lodge No. 397 minute books and account ledger, 1880-2004, are comprised of 14 minute books and one account ledger.

Abstract:
Dr. John H. Kressman (1936-1998) was a teacher, active member of the Lutheran Church, and genealogist. He was president of the Cressman Family Association and editor of its quarterly genealogical newsletter. Around the time of Dr. Kressman's death, the Cressman Family Association had approximately 600 members. The bulk of the Dr. John H. Kressman genealogy research files, 1971-2000, is research notes and correspondence, photocopies of primary and secondary sources, and printed narrative genealogies. There are also a few scrapbooks about family reunions, tours to meet German relations, and family history research.

Abstract:
Prospectville Methodist Episcopal Church (later Prospectville Methodist Church) in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania began meeting in the late 19th century and may have been discontinued in the early 1950s. Prospectville Evangelical United Brethren Church began meeting in the 1940s and was formally established in 1953. It was originally called Prospectville Methodist Mission Church, was renamed Prospectville United Methodist Church in 1968, and was discontinued in 2009. Most of the Prospectville Methodist churches records, 1897-2009, are records from Prospectville Evangelical United Brethren Church (also called Prospectville Methodist Mission Church and Prospectville United Methodist Church), with a smaller amount of records from Prospectville Methodist Episcopal Church (also called Prospectville Methodist Church). United Methodist Church of Narberth records, 1840-2011 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Beth-Raffen Methodist Episcopal Church was established in 1884 in what is today known as Narberth, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Originally part of the Merion Square Circuit, Beth-Raffen changed its name to Narberth Methodist Episcopal Church and became a separate station under the Philadelphia Conference in 1897. The United Methodist Church of Narberth was discontinued in 2013. The United Methodist Church of Narberth records, 1840-2011, consist largely of membership and vital records such as baptisms, marriages, deaths, and transfers; and minutes of the Board of Trustees, Official Board, Quarterly Conference, membership meetings, and Building Committee. Also included are a small amount of photographs, anniversary programs, correspondence, historical materials, directories, bulletins, and other documents.

Estelle Cremers (1925-2010) was a historian in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, who served as the executrix for Grace Rodebaugh and her property, Welkinweir (East Nantmeal Township, Chester County, Pa.) The Estelle Cremers collection on Welkinweir, circa 1975-2001 (bulk 1990-2001), consists of various materials compiled by Estelle Cremers about Welkinweir and the Rodebaugh estate, especially regarding her duty as Grace Rodebaugh's executrix. It includes Grace's will, documents relating to Grace's finances, materials about the donation of Welkinweir to West Chester State College and resultant controversy, materials relating to establishing Welkinweir as an historic site, inventories and other papers relating to Welkinweir, and photographs and slides of the property.
