Abstract:
Both John W. Ridpath (a Jenkintown pharmacist, newspaper publisher, and borough government official) and his son, William M. Ridpath (an engineer), were amateur photographers. The John W. and William M. Ridpath photographs, 1890-1935, consist mostly of glass plate negatives, with some contact prints and (film) slides created later. John W. Ridpath's photographs include local scenes of eastern Montgomery County as well as some domestic scenes of late Victorian home-life. William M. Ridpath's photographs document his work on the construction of the Panama Canal as well as aspects of life in Panama.

Theodore B. Culver was a wealthy mill-owner in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. His wife was Anne Jane Skilton Wallace, who established the Jenkintown Day Nursery in 1903. The Theodore B. and Annie Wallace Culver receipted bills, 1912-1914, are from various vendors in the Jenkintown area and Philadelphia, as well as receipts for charitable contributions, paid wages, collected rents, and other miscellany.

Wyncote Audubon Society (Wyncote Bird Club) records, 1914-1993 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Wyncote Audubon Society was founded in 1914 as the Wyncote Bird Club by Ernest Harold Baynes. Its goal was the preservation of birds and their environment; later, it took on the management of Crosswicks Wildlife Sanctuary and the preservation of Briar Bush Nature Center. The Club became a chapter of the National Audubon Society in 1968, and in 1977 it incorporated as the Wyncote Audubon Society. The Wyncote Audubon Society (Wyncote Bird Club) records, 1914-1993, include meeting minutes, financial records, membership records, activity files, several films, and other records of the organization.

The Woman's Club of Wyncote was organized in 1898 to form an organized center for the intellectual and social development of its members, and to promote such public measures as shall be conducive to the welfare of the community. Its programs were devoted to literary subjects and interests. The bulk of the Woman's Club of Wyncote records, 1898-2005, is scrapbooks compiled by member Flavia Witte. There are also some minute books, account ledgers, membership lists, and other manuscript volumes.

Abstract:
Henry C. Gibson (1830-1891), one of the wealthiest men in Philadelphia in his time, indulged liberally in collecting art and philanthropic causes. His son, J. Howard Gibson, lived from about 1855 until about 1894. J. Howard's grandson, Henry C. Gibson, Jr. (born circa 1922), established a firm to explore commercial uses of atomic energy in Palm Beach, Florida. The Gibson family papers, 1860-1955, primarily concern John Howard Gibson and his father Henry Clay Gibson, with some material on other family members. It consists mostly of family scrapbooks and memorabilia.

Sliker was a professional photographer based in Bridesburg (Philadelphia, Pa.) who took street scene and building photographs throughout the region, many images being printed as real photo postcards. The William H. Sliker photographs, 1905-1915, contain about 270 glass negatives of views in Huntingdon Valley (Montgomery County, Pa.), Southampton (Bucks County, Pa.), and Frankford and Bridesburg (Philadelphia, Pa.).

Since its founding, it has experienced "booming industry and manufacturing, rich farm fields, advanced transportation, artistic endeavors and unique religious beliefs." The history of the area of eastern Montgomery County has been documented significantly through the collecting efforts of the Old York Road Historical Society.
