Abstract:
Newtown, the county seat of Bucks County from 1726 to 1813, is one of the most historic areas in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Newtown Historic Association legal documents, circa 1690-1964, consist of original deeds, leases and releases and other legal documents. Particular properties and buildings are significantly documented, including Allen's Mill, 1787-1964. Of special interest is a 1692 deed on rag paper with an original 17th century jester watermark.

New Hope in Bucks County, Pennsylvania is at the half-way point between Philadelphia and New York City along Old York Road. The borough was incorporated in 1837. The New Hope Historical Society local history collection, 1763-2013 (bulk 1970-2013), includes subject files with newspaper clippings and ephemera as well as scattered original documents and manuscripts. There are ten volumes of New Hope Borough tax records, circa 1860-1890.

James and Lorah families papers, 1833-1954 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Oliver P. James (1815-1894) was a prominent doctor and community member in Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He, his wife Sarah (1824-1906), and their three children Oliver (1860-1890), Martha (1862-1918), and Sarah (1864-1954) lived at what is now known as the James-Lorah Memorial Home at 132 N. Main Street in Doylestown. In 1896, Dr. James' daughter, Martha, married George H. Lorah (1863-1945), a minister at the Doylestown Methodist Episcopal Church. Martha's sister, Sarah James was a charter member of the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown (VIA), and upon her passing in 1954, the family home and its contents and property, as well as a trust fund for maintenance were bequeathed to the VIA. The James and Lorah families papers, 1833-1954, consist of original manuscript documents from the James and Lorah families, primarily Dr. Oliver P. Frankenfield family ledgers and school books, 1846-1894 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The first store in Haycock (Bucks County, Pa.), and the only store for the latter half of the 19th century, was the Frankenfield Store. It was built in 1868 by Henry Frankenfield and carried on by family members including M. D. Frankenfield, Abel Frankenfield, John Bergstresser, E. A. Frankenfield, and A. H. Frankenfield. The store ceased operations in the early 1900s, but a post office continued at the location until 1948. The Frankenfield family ledgers and school books, 1846-1894, consist of six ledgers from the Frankenfield store (1890-1894), eight penmanship books from Sarah Frankenfield (circa 1870), and one ciphering book from Sarah Frankenfield's father-in-law, Jeremiah Ott (1846).

The Attleborough Library Company, renamed the Langhorne Library Company after Langhorne Borough's incorporation in 1876, was chartered in 1802. The library company served as a private, subscription-based library until 1960, when it opted into the public system. The Langhorne Library Company records, 1800-1971, consist of minute books, circulation registers, book catalogs and registers, financial records, subscription books, legal papers (including the 1802 charter), and miscellaneous articles, news clippings, and circulars.

Bristol Borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, became an important area due to its location along the Delaware River, a major land route, and subsequent rail line linking Philadelphia and New York City. Incorporated in 1720, it served as the county seat from 1705 to 1726. The Bristol History small collections, 1749-2013, consist of various individual manuscript volumes and small collections relating to the people, businesses, properties, and organizations of Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. W. Aubrey Merrick (1885-1962), owner of W. Aubrey Merrick, Real Estate and Insurance, was a realtor in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. His company succeeded the Merrick agency that he inherited from his father, John S. Merrick (1831-1907), and uncle, who were Newtown surveyors and conveyancers. The Merrick company records, 1831-1922, largely consist of bound volumes of property surveys, insurance records, survey maps, and surveying notebooks. The collection also includes Merrick family genealogy volumes and papers.
