Abstract:: The Preston Reading Room Assocation, Haverford, PA, was founded in 1890 for the purpose of "maintaining a building and direct its uses in such a way as shall tend to promote the welfare of the neighborhood of Friends' Meeting at Haverford." The collection consists of one record book of minutes for the Presto Reading Room Association. It contains finance reports, purchases, and hiring decisions, among other information.

Abstract:: This collection is comprised of the single volume letterbook of the Pennsylvania History Press, and includes the business correspondence of the organization. Many of the letters are addressed to various members of the press, including Arthur H. Thomas, Richard T. Cadbury, Rayner W. Kelsey, and Arthur N. Leeds. Pasted into the front cover of the volume is a pamphlet entitled "At the Forks of the Delaware, 1794-1811," published by the Pennsylvania History Press.

Elliston Perot Morris Jr. scrapbook, 1917-1924 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The scrapbook covers Morris's time at Haverford College from 1917 through 1922, with a few documents from 1923. A significant portion of the scrapbook contains photographs of the campus, professors and administrators, athletics teams and events (including the football, soccer, and track), and several photographs of fellow students.

Abstract:: The diary covers Benjamin Hayes Smith's time at Haverford and his expereinces during the American Civil War. Entries include informaiton on the Haverford Loganian Society (1856-1859), Haverford Euethean Association (1856-1859), the Haverfod Athenaeum (1856-1859), and the Battle of Stones River (December 31, 1862), in Tennessee.

John A. Hisey Jr. scrapbook, 1914-1923 (inclusive)

Abstract:: This scrapbook contains a variety of materials from John A. Hisey Jr.'s time at Haverford College. Born in Philadelphia on October 31, 1895, to salesman John Alan Hisey Sr. and his wife Gula Hisey, John Hisey Jr. entered Haverford in 1914, as part of the class of 1918. His scrapbook documents his first three years at Haverford, especially his athletic career. The book also provides evidence of the military service that interrupted Hisey's studies in 1917, and of his return to Haverford in 1921, to finish his degree.

John Randolph Winslow commonplace book, 1836-1840 (inclusive)

Extent:: 0.1 linear ft. (1 volume)
Abstract:: The commonplace book was created while Winslow was attending Haverford College. Winslow entered the college in 1838 in the Junior class, and transcribed many songs during his time there. Handwritten notes and excerpts can be found in the songbook as well. The book ends in 1840, presumably when Winslow graduated. He later went on to become a professor, physician, and surgeon in Baltimore, Maryland.
