Scull Family papers, 1876-1884 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The collection consists of correspondence of Edward Scull, who made a religious visit with Rufus King to North Carolina and England and traveled around the United States with J. Bevan Braithwaite. He called on John Greenleaf Whittier in 1878; two letters from Whittier are included in the collection, as well as two from Edward's brother, David, Haverford, 1854, and manager from 1865-1907. There are also several miscellaneous items.

Upper Uwchlan Township Historic Commission local history collection, 1829-2005 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Upper Uwchlan Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, was established in 1858 when it broke off from Uwchlan Township. Its boundaries include the historic district of Byers Station and the Wheelen House (Fellowship Farm), a Georgian-style farmhouse built in the mid 18th century. Remaining a rural community for most of its existence, Upper Uwchlan experienced large population growth beginning in the 1980s, leading to an increase in area development and the construction of several new subdivisions. The Upper Uwchlan Township Historic Commission local history collection, 1829-2005, contains a mix of primary- and secondary-source materials relating to the people, buildings, property, organizations, and other aspects of Upper Uwchlan Township. Village Improvement Association of Doylestown records, 1895-2014 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The Village Improvement Association (VIA) was founded in 1895 by a group of women in Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with the goal of improving and beautifying Central Bucks County. The VIA founded Doylestown Hospital in 1923 and is the only women's club to own and operate a community hospital. As of 2015, the VIA is headquartered at the James-Lorah Memorial Home, has a membership of over 350 women, and continues to undertake projects relating to health, welfare, community improvement, education, and the arts in Bucks County. The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown records, 1895-2014, consist of administrative records, scrapbooks, membership materials, photographs, audiovisual materials, blueprints, newsletters, ephemera, and other materials relating to the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown. There is also a small amount of materials from the Junior Women's Club of Doylestown.

The area developed due to its location along what was known as Kings Highway (now Route 340), the main road between Philadelphia and Lancaster. The West Caln Township Historical Commission local history collection, 1851-2013 (bulk 1990-2013), consists mostly of secondary-source materials such as newspaper clippings, photocopies, and research notes, with some original documents including maps, photographs, letters, oral histories, and deeds. Farmers Creamery Association of Center Point records, 1880-1921 (inclusive)

The association dissolved in 1923, and the building was converted into apartment buildings the following year. The bulk of the collection is financial records of the Farmers Hall Association, formed to erect the Union's meeting hall.
