Wilmer Atkinson Family Papers, 1881-1948 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Wilmer Atkinson (1840-1920) of Philadelphia, Pa., was a Quaker journalist and editor and publisher of the Farm Journal. He was active in social concerns, especially suffrage for women. The scrapbooks in this collection were compiled by his daughter, Gertrude Atkinson (1874-1948). The collection includes scrapbooks containing clippings and memorabilia concerning the Atkinson, Allen, and related families, and a typed copy of a journal which Wilmer Atkinson kept in 1917 concerning the War.

Abstract:: This collection contains a record of members and two volumes of letter books from the Haverford College Class of 1898. It also includes a copy of the Class of 1898's "Freshmen Ten Commandments" directed towards the Class of 1899, materials pertaining to the Class of 1898's twenty-fifth reunion in 1923, and materials pertaining to the Class of 1898's fiftieth anniversary gift.

John F. Headly scrapbook, 1924-1983 (inclusive)

Abstract:: This volume is a yearbook from the class of 1924, with images and clippings inside pertaining to their class reunions and the activities of John F. Headly. This book was brought to their 35th and 40th reunions and autographed. Annotations were also added to the book up until 1983, indicating which of the members of that class had passed away. For some of the alumni, a picture of them from these reunions was taped above their photo from 1924 in the yearbook. The scrapbook also includes correspondence and photographs from these reunions. There are also notes inside the yearbook when Headly is mentioned, including the story of how he met his wife, Dorothy Folwell Irwin Headly.

Haverford College Athletics scrapbooks, 1896-1907 (inclusive)

Abstract:: There are three scrapbooks in the collection. The first (1896) deals primarily with the Haverford cricket team. The second (1905-1906) focuses on the Haverford football team, with additional clippings for Haverford cricket, relays, gymnastics, debate, and soccer, as well as clippings about general college happenings. The third (1906-1907) also focuses on Haverford football, including articles on football games, recruits, alumni activity, and pictures of members of the team.
