Abstract:
Mary Alice Rothrock was a Pennsylvania nurse. A graduate of Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, her career spanned over fifty years. Rothrock's papers and scrapbook document her correspondence with a friend overseas during World War I, her involvement in politics, her membership and activities in Pennsylvania nurse organizations, and her later jobs at Clearfield Hospital and the Albert Einstein Medical Center.

John W. Townsend graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an A.B. in 1875, and went on to a career as an industry executive and capitalist as well as a local historian. The Townsend Collection contains documents ranging in date from 1726 to 1933. The vast majority of these items belonged to John W. Townsend. These papers trace local and national history through John W. Townsend's personal, family and business interests.

The collection features two scrapbooks and a series of 93 loose advertisements organized by topic.

Abstract:
John Drinkwater (1882-1937) was an English poet, dramatist, and actor. This collection consists of a scrapbook of material relating to John Drinkwater's performances in three Shakespeare plays at the Open-Air Theatre in Regent's Park during the Theatres first and second seasons (1933 and 1934). It appears that the scrapbook was created by Drinkwater's wife, Daisy Fowler Kennedy Drinkwater. The plays documented include: The Tempest, As You Like It, and Twelfth Night.
