Abstract:: Paul Schrecker (1889-1963) was an Austrian-born philosopher and University of Pennsylvania professor who edited the works of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz from 1929 to 1933 and Nicolas Malebranche from 1934 to 1940. This collection of his professional and personal papers consists of the teaching materials, correspondence, writing, and research materials accumulated throughout his career. This collection is of value to scholars interested in research on Enlightenment philosophers and the culture of 20th century academia.

Abstract:: This collection consists of the personal papers of Martha Emily Shaw, Philadelphia native and graduate of the Training School for Nurses of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. This collection contains a volume of her lecture notes from 1911. Shaw served as a nurse during World War I at the University of Pennsylvania's Base Hospital No. 20 in France. Upon her return from the war, she became an active member of the American Legion’s Helen Fairchild Post #412. Her activities with the Post are documented in this collection's photographs.

Abstract:: Robert H. Nones (1864-1936) was professor of prosthetic dentistry, dental metallurgy, crown and bridge work, and clinical dentistry at the Medico-Chirurgical College of Philadelphia and served as the dean of the Department of Dentistry at the college from 1898 to 1906. His papers include lecture notes, his thesis, and a scrapbook documenting the Stomatological Club of Philadelphia.

Abstract:: Edward Goodfellow graduated from the University of Pennsylvania from with an A.B. in 1848 and an A.M. in 1851, after which he began his career with the U. S. Coast and Geoditc Survey. The Edward Goodfellow Papers are a small collection of items related to his association with the University and work with the Coast Survey.
