Abstract:
In 2010, the Office of Operations was organized to oversee hospitality, front of house and receptionist, visitor services, hall and grounds, renovations, security, and the parking lot. Previously, at least as far back as 1991, the management of facilities and special events fell under the responsibilities of the Office of Institutional Advancement (as of 2015, merged with Office of Development and External Affairs and Office of Communications into the Office of Advancement). While the Office of Operations was not organized until 2010, much of the work fell under its direct predecessor, the Office of Programs and Internal Services, or was managed under the current (2019) Director of Operations, Antonia Oberthaler. The Lecture and Event Files of the Office of Operations span the years 1975 to 2019; however, the bulk of the material dates from 1991 through 2007. Founded in 1995 by a group of students, faculty, staff and alumni, the Kelly Writers House serves as a center for writers of all kinds from the University of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia region at large. American Musicological Society oral history collection, 1994-2015 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The American Musicological Society, founded in 1943 to promote the systematic study of music, actively documents its history, its members, and, more generally, the history of musicology in North America through its oral history project. This collection contains transcripts, written memoirs, documentation, audio, and video resulting from the oral history project which began in 1996 and continues to the present. Researchers must obtain permission from the American Musicological Society to research the contents of this collection (see Conditions Governing Access note).

Irene Eber gift of the Yedidya Geminder Memorial Collection of Sino-Judaica, circa 1940s-2018 (inclusive) 1970s-2010 (bulk)

Abstract:
Irene Eber (1929-2019) was a scholar and professor of Chinese intellectual history and the Jewish community in China. This collection, consisting almost entirely of photocopies of her research, is a resource for researchers interested in the Bible in China; Chinese and Yiddish literature and poetry; Jewish refugees in China, and specifically Shanghai; and the Jewish community in China before, during, and after World War II. In addition to Eber's research, there is a fairly robust grouping of her writings, although not all are complete. The collection, named by Eber in memory of her father, Yedidya Geminder who was murdered by the Nazis, contains no information about Geminder.

Donald Grey Brownlow papers, 1944-2002 (inclusive) 1960-1990 (bulk)

Abstract:
Donald Gray Brownlow (1924-2006) was an American author, educator, and World War II veteran. He wrote ten books on military history, including The Accused: the ordeal of Rear Admiral Husband Edward Kimmel, U.S.N. (1968), which investigated the culpability of U.S. Navy leadership in the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and Checkmate at Ruweisat: Auchinleck's Finest Hour (1977), which concerned the British North African campaign during World War II. This collection contains material related to Brownlow's published and unpublished writings, especially his historical work on World War II.
