Abstract:
This collection offers snapshots of Chester M. Brown at two stages of his career. In 1943-1945, taking on major responsibility as Plant Manager of the Point Pleasant West Virginia Ordinance Works where dynamite for the war effort was being produced, then, in 1962-1968 as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman-of-the-Board of the Allied Chemical Corporation, acting as corporate spokesman and a driving force for modernization within the company.

The collection consists of correspondence, reprints of published papers and notebooks kept by Johann Deisenhofer during the years 1972 and 2005. The post-1987 correspondence is also preserved in CD-Rom format. Much of the correspondence and the earlier notebooks are written in German.

Abstract:
The collection contains Nobel laureate Paul Lauterbur's groundbreaking work in the field of spectroscopy. His early work, dealing with 13C spectroscopy as well as his invention of NMR zeugmatography/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are both thoroughly documented. Lauterbur's grant applications research data, publications, presentations, and student work are contained within the collection. There is a collection of photographs and slides. Paul C. Lauterbur's notebook is also at the Chemical Heritage Foundation.
