The collections contains correspondence between Daniel P. Whitley with Friends in New York Meeting concerning issues of faith. Primary correspondent is Joseph A. Vlaskamp, General Secretary of the Yearly Meeting.

Dan Whitley graduated from Earlham College and attended the Earlham School of Religion. He serves as pastor of Clintondale Friends Christian Church in Clintondale, N.Y., an independent Friends church which withdrew from New York Yearly Meeting in 1995.
