Overview and metadata sections
The Faculty Handbook provides members of the Swarthmore College faculty with information about various policies, procedures, practices, facilities, and conventions that pertain to their positions. The Handbook includes four sections: structure of administration and faculty; academic and administrative policies and procedures; faculty employment and compensation; and services and facilities. The Faculty Handbook expanded upon the information found in the Faculty Regulations and superseded the latter publication in 1970.
This series includes various issues of Faculty Regulations and Faculty Handbooks, as well as handbooks for Instructional Staff, Chairs, and Departmental Administrative Assistants. It is organized by type and then chronologically.
Deposited by the Provost's Office, first ca. 1972, and at various times since.
The original deposit was received circa 1972 and processed as part of Swarthmore College Archives, Series 2, Official Records of the College. As necessary, materials were reorganized and refiled and a new inventory and finding aid produced. This work was completed in July 2000. Additional materials have been added since.
