Peter Dechert Associates, a photography company, took thousands of photographs of schools, colleges, and universities between 1952 and 1968.
This collection contains a box of negatives and a box of small black and white photographs of various Swarthmore College functions and activities. Photos include: people (Clair Wilcox, Courtney Smith, Mike Cook (at Oxford), Peter Van de Kamp, Claudio Spies, Jose Serebrier, Luis Batlle (piano)), sporting events (track, tennis, baseball, football, lacrosse), performances (dance, P.G. Swing Orchestra, Israeli Symphony conductor, music in Clothier, Theatre Guild, outdoor spring band concernt, modern dance, Swarthmore Singers), buildings (Bartol, Bond, the Crum, Tarble, Trotter, Parrish, Friends Meeting House, Sharples dining hall, Wade House), and special events (alumni day, commencement, fund drive, Engineer's Club luncheon, Athletic Department 100th Anniversary, American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), Swarthmore Centennial Fund.)
This collection is arranged in two boxes--one for negatives and on for black and white photos. The black and white photos are organized in folders by date and subject.
