Small square paper-covered volume, probably kept by an English woman, containing recipes for several dyes including lilac, yellow, green, and scarlet among others. There are preparations for cosmetics such as cold cream and milk of roses. A few medicinal prescriptions for coughs and one "Cure All Lady G. Baillie" are in the volume. Finally, there are instructions for the home including how to wash silk stockings and patent lace, and to clean white shoes. At the end of the volume is a list of merchants with their specialties.
