Overview and metadata sections
A red leather volume with a gold stamped decorative border comprising German culinary recipes spanning the years from 1825 to 1848. The volume was presented to Elise from her parents in 1825. There are recipes for cakes, casseroles, doughnuts, jellies, macaroni, meat dishes, pies, puddings, sauces, and soups. Sixteen leaves are laid in the volume. Fifteen leaves are recipes and one leaf is an undated letter to Sophie from Louise Keifer. Approximately two-thirds of the volume is blank.
