Mitchell A. Cohn is a member of the Haverford College Class of 1980. Cohn graduated with degrees in English and art history and was was involved with the Bryn Mawr-Haverford College News, Haverford College radio, chorale, and Debate Club. Cohn served for over 30 years as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. As of 2023, he serves on the Advisory Board of the Clark Hulings Foundation and the the Haverford Alumni Association's Rainbow Quorum Steering Committee.

This collection contains posters, programs, drawings, and designs created by Mitchell Cohn, Class of 1980, while he was a student at Haverford College, as well as materials related to Haverford Cohn collected as a student.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains posters for five radio shows performed by The Radiultimates. The shows are "Death Comes to My Friends"; "Hansel and Gretel & Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"; "A Good Man Is Hard to Find"; "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead"; and "Who's on First." All posters are accompanied by original sketches of the posters designed by Mitchell Cohn (Class of 1980). The collection also includes notes written by Cohn and by technical director Brian Kushner.

Historical Note

The Radiultimates was a radio drama group created by Haverford's radio station, WHRC. An advertisement for the group in the January 26, 1979 issue of the Bi-Co News stated, "You'd like to become an actor, but you're too shy to go out on stage, right. The answer to your problem is Radio Drama. But how do you get into Radio Drama? WHRC is ready to accommodate you."

Scope and Contents

This collection contains playbills and other materials related to the Bryn Mawr-Haverford Drama Club from 1979-1980. There are four playbills, one for each play: "The Beggars Opera"; "The Oresteia"; "Downstage Center: a musical revue"; and "As You Like It." There is also an invoice for posters purchased for "Downstage Center" and an advertisement for a music director for "As You Like It."

Historical Note

The Bryn Mawr-Haverford Drama Club was a Bi-college organization that put on performances for the Haverford community. The organization was active through the seventies and at least the early eighties. They were known for their entertaining performances and well-designed posters. The Drama Club occasionally hired tech crews from off-campus due to Haverford students' lack of tech experience.

Scope and Contents

This collection includes multiple programs for performances funded by the Haverford Department of Music. The programs are for the 1980 Summer Series concert entitled "Mozart and Contemporary Philadelphians"; "An Evening of Vocal Music"; a performance by the Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Singers, Chorale, and Symphony; "Twentieth Century Chamber Music for Woodwinds"; and a performance by the de Pasquale String Quartet and Sylvia Glickman.

Historical Note

The Haverford Department of Music organized performances by Chamber Signers, Chamber Orchestra, Chorale, Symphony, and other smaller music groups at Haverford. The Department of Music also held performances by musicians from outside the Haverford and Bryn Mawr communities. Many of the performances mentioned in this collection were performed at Roberts Hall.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains a variety of illustrations by Mitchell Cohn (Class of 1980). Most illustrations were featured in the Arts section of the Bryn Mawr-Haverford College News (Bi-Co News). One illustration is a comic about plenary and the honor code. Another illustration became the cover of the 1978 yearbook,Accord.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains miscellaneous illustrations, playbills, and more collected by Mitchell Cohn, Class of 1980, during his time as a Haverford student. There is an invitation to a gallery, a poster, an advertisement for a seminar, a Haverford Summer Theater Festival performance program, and a packet of readings for the 1980 William Ellis Scull Prize.
