Abstract:: The Swarthmore College Radio Club, founded before 1933, was reorganized in 1939. It was open to all students interested in short wave radio communication. The club had its own transmitter and operated station W3YJ, affiliated with the American Radio Relay League. In 1940, the Radio Club began to sponsor the Swarthmore Network, a wired wireless station on the commercial broadcast band. The station acquired its current call letters, WSRN, sometime before 1952; it was a member of the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS). Collection consists of three folders of background information, program guides, and an inventory of the recordings, in addition to 37 boxes of original recordings.

Abstract:: The collection contains both technical and administrative documents written throughout the lifespan of the radio club. There is information regarding the engineering work done with the physics department to set up the signal, as well as documentation of the station's transition to FM radio and eventually digital broadcasting. Information regarding the International Broadcasting System (IBS) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the club's relationship with those bodies is also available. Additionally, there is correspondence between club members and numerous outside groups, spanning from manufacturers to the New York Times. Finally, commonplace club-level administration documents such as meetings minutes and budgets can also be found in this collection.

Abstract:: WPRB is the student-operated FM radio station of Princeton University, providing music and live sports broadcasts to the Princeton campus community and surrounding areas. The records consist of various materials which document the origins and development of WPRB, including constitutions, by-laws, photographs, membership lists, clipped articles, board minutes, correspondence, and financial reports.
