The Records of the Board of Scientific Directors of the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research contains meeting minutes and reports for the Board of Scientific Directors. The Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research was founded in 1901 by John D. Rockefeller and eventually became Rockefeller University. Scientific reports and minutes of the meeting of the Board of Scientific Directors, 1931, comprise this collection. This material was formerly cataloged in printed collection with call number ZZ6Z/9. Abstract:

Dr. Abraham Ornsteen's medical notes and medical school pictures comprise the Abraham Ornsteen Papers collection. A Philadelphia neurologist and professor at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Abraham Ornsteen (September 30, 1894-April 28, 1978) gained notoriety for his clinical instruction which included some of the earliest medical instruction videos. This collection includes Dr. Ornsteen's neurological notes, as well as class and professional portraits. This collection was discovered during a survey in the summer and fall of 2015.

Abstract:

The Office of the Executive Director is the lead office in charge of administering the business of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The Executive Director oversees the activities of the College of Physicians staff including staff of the Historical Medical Library, the Mütter Museum, the Francis Clark Wood Institute, and the Finance Department. The Executive Director also oversees the College functions of institutional advancement, communications, membership, and special events. The records in this collection document the everyday administrative activities and governance of the College, and span the years 1971 to 2005. Materials consist of correspondence, memoranda, reports, pamphlets of outside organizations, financial reports, minutes, and agendas. This collection is divided into five series. Abstract:

The Hemlock Society of Delaware Valley was a chapter of the national right-to-die organization The Hemlock Society. The mission of the Hemlock Society was "choice, dignity, and control at the end of life." The bulk of materials are society newsletters and news clippings about assisted suicide. This collection is separated into three series. The Chapter Papers series comprises miscellaneous papers associated with chapters of The Hemlock Society. Of note are papers detailing the merger of two Indiana Hemlock Societies and a report on cases of euthanasia, mercy killing, and suicide. The Events series contains program details of special events of the society. The Newsletters and Correspondence series houses local and national newsletters, as well as correspondence between Hemlock Society members. This collection was discovered during a survey in the summer and fall of 2015.
