Abstract:
To celebrate Benjamin Franklin's 300th birthday, which fell on January 17, 2006, five institutions in the Philadelphia area formed in 2000 an alliance named Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary Consortium. The Consortium initiated a grand multifaceted and internationally-involving scenario for the celebration. The full name of the project is Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary, or "Ben Franklin 300, 1706-2006." This collection documents the organization, planning and operation of the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary from the time the BFT Consortium was established in 2000 till the project was wrapped up in mid 2008.

Abstract:
The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania originated as part of the University's move to West Philadelphia. The school's Medical faculty and alumni petitioned the Board of Trustees for a University run hospital to provide clinical instruction for students. The Trustees agreed and formally established the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in June 1871. The Records document the administrative and financial history of the Hospital.

Committee of American Universities on Exchange with France: Professors of Engineering and Applied Sciences records, 1919-1946 (bulk) 1922-1927 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Between 1920 and 1933 John Frazer (1882-1964) – dean of the University of Pennsylvania Towne School – served as secretary for the Committee of American Universities on Exchange with France: Professors of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The Committee consisted of representatives from member engineering schools for the purpose of communicating with institutions in France and oversee an annual exchange. The Committee of American Universities on Exchange with France: Professors of Engineering and Applied Sciences records document the activities of the Committee from 1919 through 1927 through the files kept by John Frazer while he was secretary.
