Abstract:: George Willoughby (December 9, 1914 - January 5, 2010) and Lillian Willoughby (c. 1916 - January 15, 2009) were Quaker activists who took part in nonviolent protests against war, conducted nonviolence trainings in India and other countries, and advocated for preservation of land in New Jersey and elsewhere.

Abstract:: In 1980, Jack and Felice Cohen-Joppa became co-coordinators of the National No-Nukes Prison Support Collective, which educated about peace issues and advocate for imprisoned anti-nuclear activists. The Cohen-Joppas also published The Nuclear Resister newsletter as an essential element of this work. In 1988 the organization changed its name to The Nuclear Resister. The function of the Nuclear Resister was to provide comprehensive reporting on arrests for anti-nuclear civil resistance in the United States. There was an emphasis on providing support for the women and men jailed for these actions. In 1990 reporting coverage was expanded to include anti-war arrests in North America, plus overseas anti-nuclear and anti-war resistance with the same emphasis on prisoner support. While the principal effort continues to be publication of the newsletter, supporters also participate in anti-nuclear resistance through public speaking, writing for other publications and websites, organizing...(see more)

Abstract:: Charles Bloomstein (1913 - 2002) was involved in a number of organizations that promoted civil rights, as well as peace. He was a conscientious objector during World War II, and served in Civilian Public Service (CPS) for three years.

Abstract:: The National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee was formed in September 1982 at a National Action Conference of the War Resisters League and the Center on Law and Pacifism. Its supporters promote war tax resistance on the national level. The NWTRC is not to be confused with the organization War Tax Resistance, begun in New York, New York in 1969.

Abstract:: In 1968 Steven Wayne Trimm was convicted for refusing induction into the armed services and served four years prison. Trimm fled to Canada in 1969 where he lived underground until 1974. Two years later he received clemency from the U.S. government under the Earned Re-entry Program and was pardoned. Steve Trimm is the author of Walking Wounded: Men's Lives During and Since the Vietnam War (1993) and other publications. Since the 1970s Steve Trimm has also been active with various peace and anti-war organizations, including Witness for Peace.

Abstract:: This collection includes correspondence (1981-1985), administrative files, financial records, minutes of Board of Directors' meetings (1990-2008), and publicity materials. Much of the correspondence is to, or from, Ed Pearson, a founder and National Coordinator of CMTC. The collection includes information about international war tax resistance efforts, nonviolent direct action campaigns, and grants made from interest on the escrow account.
