Abstract:: In 1968 Steven Wayne Trimm was convicted for refusing induction into the armed services and served four years prison. Trimm fled to Canada in 1969 where he lived underground until 1974. Two years later he received clemency from the U.S. government under the Earned Re-entry Program and was pardoned. Steve Trimm is the author of Walking Wounded: Men's Lives During and Since the Vietnam War (1993) and other publications. Since the 1970s Steve Trimm has also been active with various peace and anti-war organizations, including Witness for Peace.

Abstract:: The Delaware Draft Counseling and Educational Service (DDCES), was organized in early 1969 with offices in Wilmington and Newark, Delaware. It provided men who had been drafted by the Selective Service System with information about the draft and their options within that system. The DDCES also provided information on the draft, individual rights under Selective Service laws and how to file for deferments and alternatives to the draft. With the end of the draft and beginning of registration in 1980, DDCES provided education, counseling, and services on how to establish conscientious objection status. DDCES staff co-operated with other local and Philadelphia-area peace organizations such as CCCO, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, and Pacem in Terris. The organization ended some time in the mid to late 1980s.

Abstract:: C. Douglas Hostetter (1944 - ), has been an peace activist since the 1960s. He was a conscientious objector during the Vietnam war and performed alternative service for the Mennonite Central Committee in rural Vietnam.Following his work in Vietnam Hostetter worked for the United Methodist Church at the United Nations on international affairs. From the mid 1980s through the end of the decade Hostetter served as the executive secretary of the American Friends Service Committee in their New England regional office. He served as the Executive Secretary of the Fellowship of Reconcilation from 1987-1993. During the 1990s Hostetter was the international/interfaith secretary of the FOR and directed the Bosnian Student Project for the organization. In 2003 he was ordained as Peace Pastor at the Evanston, Illinois Mennonite Church. Since 2006 Hostetter has been the director of the Mennonite Central Committee at the United Nations.
