Rhoads-Evans-Garrett Family Papers, 1699-2011 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The William Evans Rhoads family papers collection contains letters, financial material, deeds, photographs, genealogical charts and more, related to William Evans Rhoads, his children, and his ancestors extending back to the early 1800s. William Evans Rhoads was a Quaker businessman living in Moorestown, New Jersey at the turn of the 20th century.

Taylor farm and family papers, 1818-2009 (inclusive)

Abstract:: This collection contains records of the Taylor family farm, as well biographical documentation on the genealogy of the family. Extensive records of Howard Taylor, including his "Farm News" volumes are included in this collection.

Elkinton, Waring Family papers, 1815-2006 (inclusive)

Extent:: 11.51 linear ft. (27 boxes, 1 tube)
Abstract:: This collection includes information about multiple generations of the Elkinton and Waring families. It is concentrated on two generations: firstly, that of Howard West Elkinton (1892-1955) and Katharine Wistar Mason Elkinton (1892/3-1961), his wife, and secondly, that of their daughter, Theodora Elkinton (1927-) who married Thomas Waring (1921-2001). It is a story of life choices made by these Quakers: for Howard and Katharine Elkinton, to serve under the American Friends Service Committee in Europe after World War I and during World War II providing relief aid, and for Theodora and Tom Waring to continue this tradition by serving in Finland after World War II and then in the field of education in the United States.

Wistar-Canby family papers, 1721-2005 (inclusive)

Extent:: 9.43 linear ft. (7 boxes and 19 volumes)
Abstract:: This collection contains materials that belonged to members of the Wistar and Canby families, prominent families in Pennsylvania and Delaware. It consists mostly of diaries, photographs, and personal papers that belonged to members of the extended Wistar-Canby family. Many of the letters and personal papers have to do with family genaological research pursued by William Marriott Canby Jr. Also included in this collection is a baby shirt and cap worn by William Canby in 1748.
