Abstract:: Christopher Darlington Morley (1890-1957) was an American journalist, novelist, essayist, and poet. These are the scrapbooks of Morley's column, "The Bowling Green," which was published in the New York Evening Post. Morley's column included poetry, short essays, literary reviews, and analysis written by himself, as well as letters written to him from readers and poetry written by a variety of poets.

Irvin C. Poley signature album, 1903-1937 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The signature albums of Irvin C. Poley include autographs of famous people, particularly authors, actors, and those in government or diplomacy, primarily sent to Poley, though there are other recipients as well. Many of the instances are signatures. Some of the more well-known authors who wrote letters, rather than just signatures, often relate to speaking at an event or a fund solicitation or response to comment or request for signature from Poley.

"Book of Epistles of George Fox, Founder of Quakerism", 1937-1938 (inclusive)

Abstract:: These manuscripts of "Book of Epistles of George Fox, Founder of Quakerism," which was originally written in 1714 by Thomas Richardson, are typed transcripts of the original document, as compiled by Thomas Richardson's descendants, Edward Wanton Smith, Esther Morton Smith, and Anna Wharton Wood. The manuscript includes an introduction which discusses the history of Thomas Richardson's volume of the epistles of George Fox and its inheritance to subsequent generations, and provides biographical information for Thomas Richardson. Letters in the volume include those to Men and Women's Quarterly and Monthly Meetings, to Friends in Barbados, to Friends in Maryland and Virginia, and to Friends in Dublin.

Gertrude Plaisted photo albums, 1893-1902 (inclusive)

Abstract:: This collection is comprised of photo albums primarily featuring the European travels of Gertrude Plaisted and her mother, Mabel Plaisted, in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Photos of architecture, especially churches and cathedrals, are some of the most prevalent in the collection. Many images depict city life and local inhabitants, while others capture the grandeur of the physical scenery. Additionally, a number of photos are art reproductions of Italian sculptures and paintings. Photos of note include those featuring a young Gertrude Plaisted posing or exploring, as well as select pictures that highlight the living conditions of local inhabitants.
