The collection contains articles, clippings, photographs, flyers, brochures, pamphlets, playbills, programs, calendar of events, posters, newspapers, invitations, sheet music, magazines, menus, advertisements, tickets, books, drawings, and scrapbooks of performances by Bernstein or of his work by other people or organizations.

Abstract:: The John Dixon Hunt material on Gordon Bottomley measures .2 linear feet, dates from 1894 to 1986, and is composed of articles about Bottomley, correspondence from Bottomley and to Hunt, and writings by Bottomley and Hunt. Gordon Bottomley (1874-1948) was an English poet and John Dixon Hunt (b. 1936) is a professor of landscape architecture and design from the University of Pennsylvania.

Abstract:: Le Sony'r Ra (1914-1993), known as Sun Ra, was a jazz musician and composer, band leader, and poet known for his avant-garde approach to music, association with Afrofuturism, esoteric beliefs, and the theatrical performances with his band, The Arkestra. This collection contains examples of artwork used for about two dozen of his albums, a series of photographs that offer a good representation of different periods of his life and work, and a set of promotional fliers, poetry, philosophical writings, and ephemera.
