Abstract:
Michael J. Donovan is a resident of Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and U.S. Coast Guard veteran who for the past 50 or so years, has researched Newtown's history during times of war, particularly Newtown veterans. Mike Donovan research on Newtown during wartime, 1870-2013 (bulk 1960-2013), consists of primarily secondary-source materials, such as narrative histories (many written by Donovan), research notes, newspaper clippings, and copies of original documents and photographs with a fair amount of primary-source documents that Donovan acquired from the families of veterans, such as photographs and letters.

New Hope in Bucks County, Pennsylvania is at the half-way point between Philadelphia and New York City along Old York Road. The borough was incorporated in 1837. Graystone Society collection on Coatesville history, 1880-2011 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Coatesville in Chester County, Pennsylvania is home to the longest operating steel mill in America, Lukens Steel Company. Development in the area was spurred by convenient transport routes offered by America's first turnpike, the Philadelphia to Lancaster Turnpike (now U.S. Route 30), and the Philadelphia and Columbia Railroad, built in 1834. The Graystone Society, Inc. is today a not-for-profit educational institution dedicating to collecting, preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting iron and steel's history and its relationship to Coatesville, the region, and the nation. The Graystone Society collection on Coatesville history, 1880-2011, includes photographs, scrapbooks, minute books, clippings, school books, and various other family papers and organizational records relating to the people and organizations of Coatesville and the surrounding area. Abstract:
New London Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania was chartered in 1723 and originally included the areas that now comprise adjacent Franklin Township and nearby London Britain Township. The New London Academy opened in 1743 and was responsible for educating a number of prominent colonial, revolutionary, and early American-era politicians, historians, clergy, and educators, including three signers of the Declaration of Independence. The New London Area Historical Society local history collection, 1711-2000 (bulk 1970-2000), consists of a mix of primary and secondary-source material relating to the history and residents of New London Township and nearby areas. Materials include manuscripts, property files, photographs, slides, newspaper clippings, subject files, and a small amount of records from various New London historical organizations.

Nether Providence Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, was incorporated in 1687. Over time, it progressed from a farming economy, to a manufacturing center with over a dozen mills, to a resort destination for wealthy Philadelphians, to a residential community. The Nether Providence Historical Society local history collection, 1825-2014 (bulk 1995-2014), consists of primary- and secondary-source materials relating to the residents, events, organizations, and structures, of Nether Providence Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Most of the collection is organized into subject files, but there are additional materials stored separately, including a sizeable accumulation of 19th and early 20th century papers from the Byer family.

Abstract:
Both John W. Ridpath (a Jenkintown pharmacist, newspaper publisher, and borough government official) and his son, William M. Ridpath (an engineer), were amateur photographers. The John W. and William M. Ridpath photographs, 1890-1935, consist mostly of glass plate negatives, with some contact prints and (film) slides created later. John W. Ridpath's photographs include local scenes of eastern Montgomery County as well as some domestic scenes of late Victorian home-life. William M. Ridpath's photographs document his work on the construction of the Panama Canal as well as aspects of life in Panama.
