This collection contains the papers of children’s book author and illustrator Marguerite de Angeli (1889-1987), with materials dating from 1914 to 1982 (bulk 1935-1977). Much of the collection consists of drafts and artwork for twenty-six of de Angeli’s children’s books. Also present are clippings, correspondence, dummies, proofs, and a scrapbook.

Abstract:
Methodism is a protestant Christian faith based in the teachings of John Wesley (1703-1791), who preached "practical divinity," emphasis on Christian living, and putting faith and love into action. The Methodist Episcopal Church was organized in 1784 in the United States. After a series of divisions and unifications over the centuries, the modern United Methodist Church (U.S.) was formed in 1968. The Historical Society of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church subject files, 1770-2014 (bulk 1970-2014), consist of small amounts of accumulated materials relating to Methodism, particularly, but not exclusively, in the Philadelphia area. Ephemera, such as pamphlets, brochures, newsletters, and newspaper clippings, as well as photocopies, make up a large percentage of the collection, although there are also photographs, correspondence, manuscripts, and other original documents. Records of the Teutonia Loge No. 225 (Manayunk, Philadelphia, Pa.), of the national German-American fraternal organization Deutscher Orden der Harugari. Includes minute book, 1894-1909; a volume of membership forms containing completed forms for approximately 50 members who joined from 1923 to 1933; and multiple copies of printed books related to the rituals of lodges of the order: four copies of an 1880 version (no publication information); and six copies of an 1874 version printed in Reading, Pa. (two different printings, one dated 1902).

Madalon Amenta is a leader in hospice care and practice. She found the Pennsylvania Hospice Network, be a founding member of the Hospice Nurse Association, and was active in many other organizations, including the (then) National Hospice Organization.
