Abstract:: Tacony is a historic neighborhood located in Northeast Philadelphia. In 1872, Henry Disston bought a large tract of land in the area to which he moved his saw mill, which became the world's largest saw manufacturer. The Historical Society of Tacony local history collection contains subject files on a wide range of topics such as local buildings, events, and people. The files contain newspaper clippings, photographs, and ephemera. Of special interest in this collection are about 50 employment cards from the Dodge Steel Company, dating from 1924-1964, which contain detailed information on individual employees.

Abstract:: The Hadley and Waters family school records, 1896-1924, consists of homework and class work of Tacony residents J. Rae Waters, Mabel Hadley (later Waters), and Richard Hadley Waters. The bulk of the collection was created by Richard Hadley Waters--only two volumes were created by J. Rae Waters and six were created by Mabel Hadley. Richard Hadley Waters was probably the son of J. Rae Waters and Mabel Hadley. Richard was born circa 1907-1908 and attended Mary Disston School in Tacony before graduating from Frankford High School.

Abstract:: Kuhn Real Estate, Inc. was based in Jenkintown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The Kuhn Real Estate Inc. records, circa 1960-1995, document various residential properties throughout Montgomery County and far northeastern Philadelphia County. The collection includes promotional sheets, sale records and deed transactions arranged by county and address.

Abstract:: Pennepack Baptist Church, established in 1688 in what is now Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the oldest existing Baptist church in the state. The church, also known as Lower Dublin Baptist Church, has had several notable pastors and parishioners throughout its history. The Pennepack Baptist Historical Foundation was established in 2010 to preserve the Church and promote its history. The Pennepack Baptist Church collection, 1844-2013, consists primarily of scrapbooks with photocopied and printed materials and some original documents. Additionally, the collection contains original manuscript materials such as late nineteenth and early twentieth century photographs, administrative volumes, cemetery deed certificates, and legal papers. Newspaper clippings, genealogy and other materials are also present in the collection.

Abstract:: William H. Sliker (1872-1951) was a photographer based in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the early 20th century. Sliker and his son, Charles L. Sliker (1892-1968), traveled periodically throughout various Northeast Philadelphia neighborhoods photographing scenery, events, buildings, people, and other subjects. The William H. Sliker glass plate negatives, circa 1905-1937, consist of over three hundred glass plate negatives. Almost every glass plate negative has a corresponding modern paper print. The images primarily depict the Northeast Philadelphia neighborhoods of Bridesburg, Bustleton, Fox Chase, Frankford, Somerton, Tacony, Torresdale, and Wissinoming, but other locations are also shown.

Abstract:: William H. Green (1875-1959) was a clerk for the Philadelphia Water Department in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a strong interest in photography. The William H. Green glass plate negatives, circa 1908-1910, 1990-1991, consist of approximately 110 glass plate negatives, half plates and quarter plates, taken by William Green that mostly depict images of Northeast Philadelphia such as Frankford and Bustleton but also include images from other areas of Philadelphia and nearby locations including Olney, Valley Forge, and elsewhere.
